Hard News: The Day After Tomorrow, in reply to
They have to have visited NZ in the last 3 years and I suspect a lot won't.
The three year rule is irritating. It's really an economic test - affluent expats who can afford a big NZ vacation between each election get to vote and the rest do not. Really feels like NZ doesn't want citizens back after a few years away (eg non-residents cannot start a KiwiSaver account).

Huh, I always thought push polling was using questions designed to produce a specific result which is then presented as objective, not actually influence the person being polled.
I'm curious about the statistical adjustments made to account for only calling landlines, and how current the model is.
-
Is it true pollsters are still using land lines only? I haven't had a one for over 10 years and it wouldn't surprise me at all if land line users were now a minority of voters with a heavy demographic skew.

Yeah, I still don't get why Metiria has been hung out to dry over this but Bill English gets a free pass.
Blessed are the homeowners.

Amazing.
For instance *facts from study of outcomes following legalization in CO* but that flies in the face of *waves hands in the air*. Checkmate!

This does feel momentous. I recall arguing with a private landlord (who owned hundreds of London properties) when my flatmates reported smelling gas fumes from the boiler but the landlord's dodgy handyman who checked it out said he couldn't smell anything. A month later we were given notice to vacate. A management company working on thousands of properties on behalf of a public council is on a whole other level.

DG above got lucky then!

So hung parliament eh. Tories will now scrounge up some compliant randoms to prop them up?

Oh duh, British :) Where do I even live again?

Hard News: Interesting Britain!, in reply to
Interesting. A friend also had papers sent to NZ and didn't receive them as of a few days ago.
