Hi, does anyone have a copy of the old animated KFC ad ("and Hugo said you go...") of the kids in the car? Please upload if you do.
Thanx

"... and I said, no you go..."
I think that ad was a classic as well. I think it's Aussie made.
And fat Hugo and his sister were the white prototypes of a whole generation of Kiwi kids of all colours growing up on fast food diets.
In defence of KFC, the ad was for a then different product called "Kentucky Fried". It used to taste better, with the benfits of all that added fat.

You can find a wmv of the ad here ... URL: http://homepages.slingshot.co.nz/~steve.hall/hugo%20medium%20quality.wmv

Wow, that ad is a lot different than I remember. I'm certain the current management at restaurant brands wouldn't approve ads that had kids like that in them.

Thanks heaps for the link to the wmv - it's as classic as I remember it!
Cheers

Thanks, I work for a KFC franchise & remember the add. I used to sing it to my son, when he was younger. He's just watched it 4 times & loved it. (but, now I realize I got some of the words wrong!)Thanks again

Oh, what's this I hear in the ad's song?
"In the backseat, we sat, getting thinner."
Conclusion: Not eating Kentucky Fried makes you thin. Sounds good to me.

There was a 1970s pop culture exhibit at Te Papa a year or two back which had a reel of old 1970s TV commercials playing in a loop on an old TV. When this ad came up in the rotate it always drew a crowd - the 30-somethings especially liked it having been small kids at the time it aired. It's probably the second most fondly remembered ad of the '70s, the first of course being the Crunchie Train Robbery
http://www.duncans.tv/2005/film-director-tony-williamsI'd love to see the old Crazy Joe Cola and the original Pop-pop-pop-sicle Band ads again if anyone knows where to find these online.
