• Robyn Gallagher,

Robyn: Who needs to watch? - John Barrowman is automatically the gayest of 'em all

It's not what they so gayfully do, but how they do it that makes for an entertaining half hour of telly.

• Craig Ranapia,

It was lovely watching Daniel Beddingfield peeking between his fingers, and I always thought Barrowman was English. He has a talent for being cheerfully grubby with a light touch Yanks never quite seem to pull off - it's like the difference between having your arse pinched with a saucy wink, and a leering grope.

• Matt Jeffs,

Okay heres a pointless fact for the day.... TORCHWOOD is an anogram of DOCTOR WHO.
Maybe I should get a life...........
Also another show you may want to catch down there in NZ is another Brit comedy called Peep Show (not what it sounds like) very clever very well written. Stars two english comedians David Mitchell & Robert Webb. Gives 'The Office' a run for its money on the cringe-o-meter any day. Keep an eye out for it. Or sus it out at the following link.

"I always thought Barrowman was English"

He was born in Scotland so, close enough, eh?

Is anybody else following "Heroes"?

Would be sort of like saying New Zealand is practically Australia, if we had actually lost a war to them. It's still technically legal to shoot Scottish people in York, provided you use a bow and arrow.

Cheers for the links. I'd very much enjoyed Jonathan Ross on QI recently - now there's an utterly brilliant show that the Beeb is just getting around to releasing on DVD after four years. Best thing on my computer all year.

Yes, I was trying to be /slightly/ sarky in my reply while still maintaining a facade of effortless cool and sophistication. Oh well. Maybe I should have just used an animated emoticon. :-)

• Lambert,

While we're bashing free-to-air TV, it's probably worth noting that Sky ain't too flash either ...

I'm not bashing free-to-air TV as much as announcing my deep, all-consuming love for the DVD format. It's giving the power back to the people!

The sooner they can sort out this Blu-Ray/ HD-DVD bunfight the better, too. I certainly won't upgrade until the dust settles in a few years time - no-one wants to be one of those sad cases who were still ranting about the superior picture quality of their Beta player three years after the last movie was released on Beta video.

And it's quite possible that when the dust does settle, neither one of those formats will be preferable. Instead we'll all be making use of Telecom's unleashed network speeds and grabbing our HD content on demand via the interweb.

• JP Hansen,

I know this isn't connected to Fiona's blog, but... memo to TVNZ. The only thing that would cause me to switch from Campbell Live to Close Up would be a Wells/Casserly presenter/producer combination.

• Danielle,

Fiona, I'm thrilled that you like Entourage. We have been sneakily downloading episodes for a few months now, and I'm a bit disturbed by how deeply I love all these ethically bankrupt, starf*cking wankers (particularly as the show is probably 90% true). I suppose E is meant to be the 'everyman' we identify with, but it's Turtle, Drama and Ari that make me the happiest. Hug it out, bitches.

• Joanna,

I'd just like to give a shout-out to this forum for making me realise I could buy The Insiders's Guide to.. on DVD already - as soon as I read that and goggled, out came my credit card and thanks to the speed of the Aro Video shop the DVDs are waiting for me at home for my viewing pleasure. Hurrah!
