The Brown speech is playing fine. Don't forget you can upload audio here too, if that's any easier.

merc,
Don't give up (I know you won't), you've already shown up every journo in NZ. I'm guessing this is not an Intredpid Journey NZ On Air Gig, are you funding this trip yourself?
The ramifications of actually having someone right there instead of the humidor atmosphere of blog opinion here, is blowing my mind.
Memo to newsroom, send bloggers.

merc,
Oh, by "here" I'm referring to, you know, some other political commentary and opinion blogs. I guess it is the curse of the button that the comments sections on blogs allow totally based-on-nothing-but-my-ass comments to go out there into the ether.

So will Keith get the NZ Foreign Correspondent of the Year Award for this?
Or should that be: Only NZ Foreign Correspondent of the Year Award?
Very much enjoy reading the dispatches... an Alistair Cooke in the making :)

Keith would like to thank his sponsors, the Asia:NZ Foundation.

The consummate professional wouldn't have been an odd-looking guy with imposing glasses, by any chance? If so that would be Nick Robinson, the BBC's political editor. Latest blog entry: GB slams BB 'racism'.

I would like to thank my sponsors, the Asia:NZ Foundation for making this trip possible.
They paid for most of my flights, but apart from that, I'm pretty much paying my own way here. I'm fairly cheap to run, and India's cheap to be, so it's a good combination. (And, of course, I gorge at these conferences where they feed us.)
And yes - it was Nick Robinson. That's a good cartoon of him on the blog.

merc,
Watchout or the money drones from TVNZ and NZ Onair are going to come a knocking on your door and lecture you on how you are bringing the whole gravy train down with your enthusiasm and low cost funding.
