SpinItWide? Really? No disrespect, but how thoroughly did they market-test that name? The mental image is not particularly pretty:
The hippopotamus, for instance, is said to mark jungle trails by excreting a lethal mixture of urine and feces while twirling its tail like a propeller. This may explain the historically sluggish market for pet hippopotamuses.
(NB I'm a test-market of n=1; other people may have different mental images, like, I dunno, fans, and things hitting them. Or perhaps they were aiming for a sort of Spidermanesque vibe?)

Also: the title of this post made me think of legendary quarterback Joe Namath on the relative merits of Astroturf and grass...
-
Could Lombard and Doug and Carrick Graham possibly be related somehow?
-
Carrick Graham is Doug Graham's son.
The Hollow Men had him sponsoring tables at a National fundraiser and hosting Brash and John Carter at British American Tobacco's offices.
Bet they want their money back now.

So money doesn't influence politics?

Denielle Boulieris, who they have running ACR appears to moonlight as a realtor.
And in an interesting case of possible plagiarism - text on their alcohol page:
"In 1999 Parliament voted against allowing dairies to sell wine and beer, which may come as a surprise to those who have seen a number of shops that would normally be regarded as dairies selling alcohol. This bill will argue to ensure that except in very limited circumstances,"
Seems to have been lifted from a speech by Simon Power

Judging by the website, SpinItWide is basically an automated mass-email service to allow clients to spam media contacts and maintain their own contacts database. So although the Inwood connection is very interesting I wouldn't leap to the conclusion that all its clients are equally skeezy.

I saw a hippo do this at the zoo once. One of the craziest things I've ever seen. Literally shit hitting the fan, flies about three or four metres in all directions. My son loved it.
Umm, as you were.

Inwood has also been involved with those quasi-suburbanists at Waterfront Watch.
Like the Melbourne Docklands, the Welly Waterfront still got developed, and it's still open to the public.

What was FailOil's "comeback," just out of interest?
Oh, and congrats on the scoop to you and Rory. This is excellent stuff.

Any relation to the "Community Retailers Association"? Or is that an example of the media adding value to a press relase by getting it wrong?
-
-
There appears to be an Association of Community Retailers too.
They blame dairy robberies on high tobacco prices.
-
Oh snap...

This is like Friends. Cast of half-dozen, and everyone's in bed with everyone.

Yeah. But it's a fairly... selective group that uses it. We just saw how Lombard was connected to everything, so I'm quite interested to see whether the other organisations connect too.

You can bank on the whales...
I note SpinItWide website is by Oxygen IT,
and I note the Director of Oxygen IT is
Stacey (Stace) Hema ...
- a.k.a. Glenn Hema Inwood's brother... (spokesmammal for the Japanese whalemeat and consumable nightshade industries...)still nepotism ain't a crime, yet, right...?
hmmm - a whales and tobacco portfolio
if only he had aphrodisiacs as well...
then Omeka would be the complete
Filter Feeder Fount of "facts" rather than a
bottom feeding PR operation, floundering about...I also note that
Omeka is Maori for Omega
(No Alpha males here.
Yeah right! Quit yer blubbering...)
so is this just an endplay... -

She's also a Shapeshifter and Fat Freddies fan.
The current journalistic fad for friending people to investigate them is far too creepy for me, but her existing Facebook friends look like the Facebook friends of all other twentysomething, university-educated women in New Zealand. Is there a casting agency or something?
-
Yeah I decided to not go there - she is interesting for another reason - she appears to have a googly globally unique name - lucky her
-
How interesting that the private rest home operators have rebranded as the "Aged Care Association" when all the trends are towards home-based care for older people rather than herding them into residential services (which double as long-term property investments).
-
from that ACR site: "The Association of Community Retailers represents the views of retailers on the wide range of issues "
that wide range appears to be tobacco sales, tobacco displays, tobacco-related crime, tobacco taxes and um alcohol and chocolate...
-

Me too.
I also have a monopoly on Graeme Edgler, and Graham Edgler, but there appears to be a Graham Edgeler with a single google-able reference in the UK =)

"Carrick Graham is now following you on Twitter!"
lol.

"Carrick Graham is now following you on Twitter!"
and aren't you making it worth his while. :)
Feeling left out of the stalking love, can I perhaps controversially ask what aged care has in common with tobacco, whaling and shonky finance companies?
