  • Jackie Clark,

Ah, the Comedy Festival. Love it, love it. I loved the Gala - I particularly liked Josie Long - very esoteric humour - and I also thought that Jason Cook was really funny in a very quiet sort of way. I have always loved Irene Pink. She did a gig for us at the Auckland Kindergarten Association Conference at the beginning of the year. Two people out of 300 odd walked out. Score! I would say.

  • Jackie Clark,

I meant to say, too, David, that if you haven't already read Janey Godley's autobiography, do so. It's pretty harrowing but it really adds to understanding who she is as a comedian.

If you lose 10 kilos, how will we find you?

Just look for a nose in profile.

If it works out right, the weight will be disappearing from the emerging life-ring around my girth. They give you a heart attack, those things.

  • Jackie Clark,

You know what kindergarten teachers are like, Julie - some of them can be, shall we say, a little po-faced at times. She did the joke about how when men put their socks on in the morning, the first side they put on is the side their penis is leaning. Nothing offensive in that, I would have thought, especially since we had Nigel Latta as our speaker in the morning, and he is VERY scatalogical.

Personally I've had little to do with kindie teachers since I was four, but I do remember them as having very little sense of humour.

Especially when it came to catching little boys seeing who could pee furtherest up the wall.....

Funny how often the same theme pop up in our tertiary institutions.

Hearteningly, 18-year-olds can pee much, much higher.

Kindergarten? I remember all the boys in my class being taken outside away from the girls to be spoken to by our female teacher on this subject, in intermediate school.

    Oh how we giggled.
