Here’s The Beths’ live stream from yesterday morning (actually just Liz and Jonathan, who share a bubble, playing):
They announced a forthcoming new album, Jump Rope Gaze, and played this new single, which sounds like a classic Beths tune:
ALSO: Nadia Reid is selling tickets for an hour-long online show next Friday.

Ah. I was hoping the YouTube version would be ready in time for the post – that's generally better-behaved embed code.

One thing the panelists didn’t have time to get to was an idea that had a lot of support in the comments: a new New Zealand music TV show.
I reckon this could be a go-er, as there's previous history of this actually happening.
About 30 years ago, a dispute over the use of music videos led to Radio With Pictures not being broadcast for some months.
As a result, it was replaced by a NZ-music only TV show called True Colours, iirc. It was a good programme, so if it can happen once, it can happen again.

A question for Russell Brown (or anyone else who knows anything about the NZ music industry):would something like last year's concert for the Mosque victims have been feasible, say, a decade or so ago?
Although not a lot of it would be classed as "my music", I was impressed by the range of artists and the overall professionalism of it.
I guess what I'm asking is what has changed in the NZ music industry to allow something like that event to happen pretty seamlessly and get the crowds in?

There’s a HUGE online festival featuring Lawrence Arabia, Marlon Williams and many more this Friday and Saturday.

And a BIG shout out to Brian Feary from Melted Ice Cream for making this happen.
BLE lineup includes Violet French, perhaps better know for her work with bands such as Kool Aid but with a sweet voice which really comes into its own when she's solo.

The highlight for me was Lawrence Arabia finishing his all-covers set with 'You'll Never Walk Alone' for his mum, who is alone in lockdown, the day before her birthday. She's from Liverpool.
