Russell Brown, in reply to
Was he actually taken off the field a second time, or was Rob Allen mistaken with his comment on the show?
No, he played on. Either you misunderstood Rob – I thought he said Lonergan returned after a few minutes – or he misspoke.

Thanks for confirming. I went back and watched it just now and I think he must have accidentally misspoken... from around 18:25:
"...and of course, then, two or three minutes later the cameras were on him and he was wandering around in the dead ball area...clearly didn't know where he was. He was taken off, so that was a big relief."

Didn't have time to dig these links out earlier:

I don't have a link, but there's also anecdotal evidence that the parts of the brain that tend to get damaged in hits are, in part, the ones that govern risk-taking behaviour. Very crudely speaking, concussions tend to have the effect of making you go right back to doing whatever it was that gave you the concussions, because the part of your brain that would otherwise tell you that that's a bad idea has been put out of action. It's a negative feedback loop.

So will ACC rates go up for the various sporting businesses like the NZRFU/etc, because their employees have long term work related injuries? …. or are we all stuck paying for it
