Fox (FOX!) calls Ohio for Obama.
Have you any reason to believe that their predictions are anything other than based on evidence in the same way as all the other networks?

!#^T*TY)((_))_I)_)_)
That's my keyboard code for party poppers going off. It's done. Yahoo! Let's hope that Barack truly does bring a new style to the prez. Peace be with you all. -
and now New Mexico has gone to Obama (CNN) so it looking really dark for McCain
-
And.... POP!
-
If you want a more local variety of wingnut misery to sharpen your palate, Lindsay Perigo is already planning the counterattack on Communist America.
-
I think BBC trumped the Schadenfreude by interviewing John Bolton. He summed up everything wrong with the Republicans by claiming that McCain was far too centrist, and Palin had done a great deal to energize the base, a great asset.
The worse part is, I could have written that script in a drunken stupor. Which would explain a hell of a lot... Now would Giovanni like to put some hard money on his belief there isn't a hiope in hell of Palin winning the nomination in '12? It is a bet I really really want to lose.
-
And at the MCain party in Phoenix, they haven't announced that Ohio and Pennsylvania are lost.
Giovanni's right, it's a funeral
-
POP! Gluck gluck gluck gluck . . .
Party on Jolisa. -
I know Stewart has made fun of it over the years, but I want to marry John King's touchscreen map right now.
Hands off Tiso, I had dibs on it for a while now!
I'm sure there's enough touch screen to go around! (And does that look as weird as it was to type?)

I never bet money, but a lunch at a very proper restaurant? sure.

Bugger -- I've got to get cleaned up and go out too. Play nice, and please don't gloat younglings. It's undignified and ageing.
-
John King has just given McCain the best case scenario and still doesn't get him to the magic number. So effectively he's called the election.
Yep my Caryota palm went into the ground (albeit rather prem but I live in hope ) and the Mission e state merlot is watering my lips and probably me eyes lata. Cheers

Not at all, other than perhaps gaming one of their polls they've done an honest job on that front. But it would have been hard to hear the call over the gnashing of teeth - you'll give me that.

No.
It's Palin-Plumber 2012.

I'm getting flashbacks of Barbarella right now. Oh boy.

I'll get the contract drawn up, and you sign 'em in blood where indicated (initial each page). Then we wait three years and see what happens. (Don't worry about the mentions of "immortal soul" and "first-born son" and "eternal damnation" in the fine print. That's legal mumbo-jumbo for... something else.)

Now is the time

Nate Silver dissects the result with a must read post.
-
North Carolina getting close, Florida still well ahead.
Virginia is neck and neck according to CNN. Obama only a thousand votes behind.
-
Why is Missouri still with MCain? Seems against the odds. I have dashed of an email to an expat Kiwi there to see if they can make any sense but just might be the low numbers reporting so far.
Only 1 patch of blue there and right next to Illinois?

The first time you're in Wellington or the first time I'm in Auckland after the GOP nominee is announced. Winner of the bet to choose the restaurant, out of towner accepts suggestions (I'd be taking you to Maria Pia's if it's still operating by then - that's one of my bet winnings from this election).
That's all the contract we need.

Don, dude. If you start breaking out the Dr King clips without warning like that, I will *lose it*. In front of god and everybody. :) <sniffle>

If you add what the Dems won in '04 to the current projections, Obama goes over the line. And the little donkey turn into a POTUS seal.
