Yes, the secret is waiting a long time for the post to ‘take’. I went off to feed the fish and then it worked.
Still doesn’t work for me unless I do a screen capture and save as a jpg.

Hah! Too slow ;-)
Well, er, hard to stop, innit?
I'm waiting for Russell to say, "Stop! Stop!" :-)

he’s a brick…

Now that this post-Sumerian clay-based ’font’ exists
would it be possible to make it available as a font to buy
which might then give Blair some small extra return on
what looks like a lot of creative work…
and I’m sure it would be of interest to a lot of type lovers
worldwide – a font created by an earthquake – I’d love to
see it mentioned on boing boing and in wired and other places…
I mean how many fonts have come out of Chchch?
This would put Mr Parkes up there with that florid font from Strategy for the Chchch Art Gallery* and maybe Max Hailstone – but he was from the UK and mostly taught about type at Ilam. oh and Paul Russell and maybe a few others, but not many…
Any way I’m all for any initiatives that give Blair more of a profile
- he is a very multi-talented creator.*oh, hang on that was by UK based designer Jeremy Tankard – don’t think he’s a kiwi…

It's a bleedin' mystery!
I had to check in case there was some solemn reason for the thread closing, but there doesn't seem to be.
I did delete an entry in questionable taste, so perhaps that did something.
Anyway, carry on!

Like Ian, I'd welcome the opportunity to remunerate Blair for his talent. Especially since I cheekily used it on my Gravatar, and hope to use it on a t-shirt. Some sort of pennies per brick scheme, with a top-up for bricklayers in Christchurch?

Totally hearing you -- more so given that another scheme that was intended to give Blair a return for this project has fallen bloody over.
I've asked Blair whether he has a Paypal or anything. Stay tuned.
