No pix of Amy looking doing her Meg White impersonation?

looking doing? ignore the looking.

I don't think I can resist this game much longer. It now has a *Beatles* song on it, for goodness' sake. (And isn't there going to be an entire Beatles edition of the game? I could finally prove that Ringo actually is a great drummer to all the naysayers. Or something.)
-
It's a lot of fun, but it still won't be good for playing along to real music until the mini-guitar and drum pads are augmented by a toy keytar, plastic 303, fun-sized MPC and a minituarised (i.e. slightly less than room-sized) Moog modular.

I realise I can't think of one technically proficient but aesthetically boring rock guitarist.
Clapton is usually pretty boring to look at. :)
-
Hopefully it has Overkill by Motorhead, if your drummer can survive that Philthy Phil workout then respect.
Oh, and a James Brown and the JBs live 10-15 minute version of Cold Sweat or Soul Power would sort out the drummers from the posers as well!

Nothing more rock star than those curtains ...

Yep, I'm very stoked. And you're totally welcome to come around and jam.

I don't think so, but it does have Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden and that's bloody hard.

But did you like the wristband we made the drummers wear?

Don't forget the theremin

We only stopped because it was getting late and we didn't want to annoy the neighbours.
This might be a rather odd question, but you don't live in the top northwest corner apartment in a certain warehouse-conversion in Grey Lynn do you? Based on those photos you could be, and based on the noises of Sunday night I could be your neighbour...
=? -
Apparently Johnny Ramone spent the first 3 montsh learning to play the guitar by standing in front of his mirror, getting the stance right, before he bothered to play a note.
And Clem Bourke of Blondie was Elvis Ramone for about five minutes before he realised he couldn't play that way.

Mark Knopfler, Chris Rea spring to mind.
I could finally prove that Ringo actually is a great drummer to all the naysayers.
Ringo's a great drummer. unhurried and recognisable. I always liked this alleged exchange between Lennon & a reporter:
Reporter: Do you think Ringo is the best drummer in the world?
John Lennon: He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles. -

Nope. Newtown, Wellington. Sorry can't help with the noise (or invite you over for a game)

Damn it (was angling for the second) =>

3410,

and listen to. Never could understand why the guy is supposedly held in such high regard. Like a thirteen year old, he plays all lead and no rhythm, and even that is just an endless display of unfelt, ripped-off little stock blues licks, tacked together.

Stuff he did with John Mayle's Bluesbeakers. And Cream.
Both bands with a superb drummer. I firmly believe a great guitarist needs a great drummer, otherwise its very boring, one hand clapping stuff you only find exciting if you're stoned.
Townshend and Moon; Richards and Watts; Cooder and Keltner....

Speaking of drummers, according to the little fact-icles* the game gives you before each song I found out that apart from one guitar piece, Dave Grohl played all the instruments of the Foo Fighters debut album
*not factoids, I've (sort of) learned my lesson

("I haven't seen you in a while Hadyn, where have you been?" "Why do you think you've gained weight Hadyn?")
Ahaha! No comeback possible?
"What are you talking about, HAL?"

...the Asheton brothers. At the moment, I am mostly listening to this and am struck how the guitar and drums hold things together, and how melodic the bass parts are.
(28 takes in a row of Loose, I'm in heaven)

The Kings of Leon seem to combine some frantic guitar work with some of the most intense drumming I've heard.
Not their target demographic (a phrase worked to death in our house) but I am a huge fan.

A lot of their songs start with drum or bass lines that disappear into the song and seem to magically resurface from time to time. I was very annoyed when they weren't DLC on Rock Band

Wow, weird, I didn't know you knew Aidan, Hadyn.
Have you heard from him since he went to Oz? -
