Lovely Sofie. I might go camp in the park behind, see if I can capture the two Tui who play fight all day every day.
And Jonathan, that's some serious pink.

Always exciting to catch sight of strange creatures! I was annoyed that I didn't get to see the skunk that was apparently strolling round behind a group of us when I was in Calif.

A rainy day so played with bulbs in pots…
BTW, meant to say, these two bulbs in pots are beautiful pictures, such lovely light!

Nobody sees us,
Stops us, betrays us;
The small grains make room.Soft fists insist on
Heaving the needles,
The leafy bedding,Even the paving.
Our hammers, our rams,
Earless and eyeless,Perfectly voiceless,
Widen the crannies,
Shoulder through holes. WeDiet on water,
On crumbs of shadow,
Bland-mannered, askingLittle or nothing.
So many of us!
So many of us!from Mushrooms , by Sylvia Plath.
This morning, after the deluge, that's all my garden has to offer! A resurgence of autumn.

Yes. The sun was on the gorse, lighting it up. That is taken in the former Palmer's quarry in North East Valley, Dunedin.

Orua Bay, Awhitu Peninsula
Oh Jack, what beautiful pictures! Particularly love the toetoe on the beach.
Can someone remind me why I'm living in this earthquake-riddled, dictator-infested, ruddy swamp??
What are house prices like in Orua Bay?

Brilliant play of light, shadow and colour. The middle one looks more like abstract painting than beach. Great shots.

Ah yes, apparently I just fell into the ‘commonly misspelled as’ trap. Although I note I am not alone. ;-)
yeah, you and the design store! And the winery, and the florist....
Mm, I like the idea of having a pony to match the house.

Thank you Nora, it was a rainy day so they were in front of the open backdoor with me holding a newspaper as a reflector with the camera on 10 second timer. Things you do...

Here’s a tui from this morning, outside my front door in my dressing gown…
Wish I had a dressing gown like that! ;-)
But seriously, lovely shot. And Sofie, I love yours too, with the tui almost flying backwards, just shows what a range of movement they have.

The Toetoe also.... invasive.
Perhaps it's the Argentinian interloper?

Thanks Joe.Yes, the pampas is up at Matai Bay since the massive fire and there was a couple at our place on the previously felled area on the land, so that photo is probably pampas in the background and possibly Toetoe in the fore..I find the difference between the two difficult to tell but the more purple colour makes sense now. It also has blades for the leaves in my opinion but I could be wrong and have them mixed up. Pampas is also pretty easy to pull out if you get in early.
So, not wanting to denigrate the native plants,(although I am not as precious as others), it’s still invasive. :)
