We have 'banana slugs' (local name as far as I know) - 6-8cm long, a delicious deep brown colour with a bright yellow stripe, that do the same - coming into the house
without using the doorhandles*- during the cooler wet days.
Regrettably, once inside the house, the temperature being generally much warmer, they dessicate if I'm not home to rescue them...* They can happily squeeze under my kind of doors-

crepey crawlies...
We have ‘banana slugs’ ... they desiccate
if I’m not home to rescue them…If they desiccate maybe they
should be 'coconut slugs'?
:- ) -
Jos,
They'd be nice on a meringue!

‘coconut slugs’
Honestly, I'd rather have a slug of gin....

Think thin, dried but still malleable, and very dark brown… and very very dead*…love the suggestions
Ian & Jos, but I think I go with Lilith – the gin slug, the whisky slug, are much more appealing!*My nextdoor naybore's suggestion was, "They're called banana slugs because you peel them off the floor..."

This conjures a picture of a coconut-encrusted slug with a meringue for a shell, in the same vein as those coconut mushroom sweets.
-
Jos,
This portrait thread is turning into a slug fest!

a self take in the hall mirror
Nice one!
And that mirror must help avoid hallway traffic collisions, too...

Well spotted, I cloned it out and made it look like I had my arms behind my back. :)

Btw those are some mighty locks you are blessed with. I am tempted to do an essay on them any time you are anywhere near ChCh.

It is quite interesting that strangers feel the need to touch them. Really, they are just a very cheap hair do { ;)

Or anytime you are anywhere near Auckland, we have the kernel of an idea for a portrait photography workshop. I'm hoping a few PA regulars might offer their services as models.
Just quietly.
Will take a while to get things organised, but watch this space.

We would just like to say. With the backdown from the Council, (thank you Cathy). we feel we have been vindicated in our fight on behalf of our dogs. We can walk in peace once more. { :))

I have many portraits of regs at hand, and even great shots of their partners (ahem) but have no permission. Got great shots at PAS book launches, even you Jackson, Mr leyland, Sacha, Jackie, the list is long..... Mr Haywood, Bob, and Jen, .....Bart, Brent....Emma... will have a go this evening if peeps don't mind.I'm checking first though.
