Hey girl!
Nice post. Stephen Fry's blog is priceless, but astonishingly long. Was he on a manic episode or something?
And Myanmar/Burma .. I've collected sets of links a couple of times in the past week, and not been sure where to go with them.
But again, the internet (and mobile communications) have played a remarkable role -- to the extent that the generals felt it necessary to yank the whole country'si internet. Interestingly, the Burmese are not prevented from running satellite dishes or, on most days, using the internet -- so they do know what everyone else is saying.
I suspect brutality is the only thing that keeps the generals from being revealed as buffoons.

I can vouch for that site by the way, (www.givetoburma.org). It was set up by a young dissident friend of mine, Susu.

Ah, but it wasn't a blog, it was a blessay - a blog essay, so it's allowed to be long.
But, yeah, perhaps it takes a certain state of mind to write that much. I run out of steam at around 1000 words.

FREE BURMA PROTEST RALLY CHRISTCHURCH

(This Saturday)Daily Show had Jon burn an author (not the book though) who had that same false laugh as Hillary Clinton. Funny the premis of the book was live your life like a political campaign and you'll win. Jon thought it was fascist.

I read everything all the way to the end, and yet I practically needed Ritalin to get to the end of his posts! The man needs to get a day job.

Always smart to leave 'em wanting more :-)

This led to one of those pointless 'what makes a blog' philosophical discussions with my partner while making dinner when I found the Fry blog a while back. I was interested in my own gut reaction that it couldn't be a blog because it was too long. Now I know what to call it. Fabulous.

Popped along to Free Burma Rally in Christchurch.
It was small & sweet but that's fine.I'll let others concerntrate on the issues but couldn't get over Ruth (DIC) Dyson park illeagally and everyone walking 3 times around the park past it.And we wonder why the transport questions go unanswered.
Not to disrespect the monks but to my untrained ear the chants sounded like Shaggy on 33. It had an understated good beat to it. "meisster booom baastic ....."

Oh poos. I would have gone to the Wellington Burma gathering had I read this blog (or otherwise heard about it) sooner. Sorry.
