Re: Obama vs Clinton - I wish they would both start running against McCain instead of each other. At least that way we could start to pick out the differences between them and not bear witness to the democrats self destructing (again). A ticket with both of them on it would be unbeatable but I'd hate to have to clean up the mess after someone figures out who leads that ticket - there would be body parts I'm sure.

Growing up in the States, the best homegrown we had on offer was Saturday Night Live - back when it used to actually be funny. The rest was a veritable wasteland. Thank god, though for the Public Broadcasting System for bringing us Monty Python. It would be on around 10.00 at night and somehow my brothers and I convinced our parents to let us stay up and watch. How surreal! My next brush with British comedy had to be Mr Bean, before any movies, and my partner still can't understand why I dissolve on the floor when it comes on (very rarely these days). I think I'll have to give Fry and Laurie a look though - next time I'm up at 3.30 AM.
