I agree,Palate is a wonderful place to eat at.I have also discovered another great eating hole in Hamiton,The Woodbox at Mystery Creek.Went there with a small crowd the other day.As for a lot of cafes and restaurants, the noise drives me out.

Having in the old days, used the railcar from Hamilton to Auckland,I was under the impression that the service was being run down. The decor was very shabby, and I felt very ashamed about it.It wouldn't take much to encourage punters to use rail again.Just clean and comfortable with a good timetable.Any old train would do for me,I would travel in all of them!

when I take my 13mth grandson out in the car,I put 1950's cds on.He just loves Sugarbush by Doris Day,and kicks up a storm when that song is missed out.

actually I joined the st johns brigade, too, and all I can remember are the wonderful cocoa drinks, and across the road the yummy chips in white paper bags with tomato sauce in the bottom.I brought them before the bus arrived.Says a lot about me.

i joined a marching team, called the papatoetoe highlanders.we were midget class(take it how you will),and spent a lot of time polishing our white boots and selling raffle tickets. There is something awesome about marching to a good tune, with a uniform on,and everyone looking at you.(we thought they were looking at us with envy and wonderment).I don't think I was very good at it.Memories!
