Hard News: Metiria's Problem, in reply to
Realpoltik. I'm not a NZ First fan by any stretch In fairness Last time Winston was in (or outside) of Government, he largely behaved himself before shooting himself in the foot. He likes the baubles too much. Plus there was that shafting National gave them in 08, and i'm not sure he wants to prop up a final term government again.

Not to mention that if the Greens do get 5%, and Labour are in a position to form a government with NZF, then I can fully see them being dumped at the instigation of Peters and then pliantly giving that government a free ride on confidence and supply.
I think that's entirely possible. Even the Greens abstaining would get Labour/NZ First across the line. I doubt the Greens would vote against a change of government even though it would be painful to them to sit on the sidelines again.

I presume they start looking for a very safe Labour seat for him now.
Little lives in Island Bay.

And Tolley is looking at superannuation. Will be interesting if she wants to raise the age. Let her get kudos for that I say . MSD needs to save a bundle
Just hope she doesn’t do a buster Bennet on beneficiaries.Tolley isn't looking at super, MSD suggested it in their Briefing to the Incoming Minister, which the Minister can choose to ignore, which they will because John Key has pledged his career on it

Again, tough crowd. Yes Little won by only a small margin, but does that make him the antichrist? I know that the Robertson/Arden ticket appealed to the urban liberal vote, but really, that vote isn't going to win elections. And I am saying that as an urban liberal voter. Despite Little having lost New Plymouth I think he has a much better chance at this vote than Robertson ever would. And that has absolutely nothing to do with his sexuality.
What people need to do is actually give the guy a chance.

Well said James. At the risk of getting personal (but hey thats what this is about) the biggest thing that DC lacks is self awareness. That has become abundantly clear since the election, but was very evident from early on. I also backed him in the leadership race, but had my nagging suspicions, but like a lot of people here supported him right up.
But in retrospect all those suspicions have been borne out. I also have my anecdotal story about family of mine (first time NZ voters) who liked the policy labour had but couldnt vote for Cunliffe, simple as that. And I couldn't really argue with that.
Nonetheless, all in sundry, caucus and party, really need to wake the hell up and think about what is at stake here. 6 more years of opposition is simply unacceptable, sort your shit out, all of you, because people are really hurting out there, and seeing you bicker and fight is not going to encourage them to get out and vote for you.
