Hard News: The fake news problem, in reply to
Well MSM can always chose to run good truth checking. Radio NZ has done some. In Australia it looks like ABC and The Conversation were fact check sites to go to in last election. Are these MSM?
-
Credible fact check sites are to be preferred to relying on MSM which reports $100,000 bottles of wine and "soft" interviews of Honest John, etc. Sadly there are better active fact checking sites in Australia (ABC, The Conversation) than in New Zealand. Although sometimes Radio NZ does it, Mediawatch as well.

Graeme I think you need to account for the age of the person at the time of the offences. As I understand it there is a reducing offence rate as people get older, over 30 years old. Is that a factor"

Polity: Too much to swallow on the TPP, in reply to
My previous post was a reply to Sacha replying to Tracey-Mac

But those firms already can access government contracts under a recent trade in services agreement National signed. (Incidently I think that this agreement makes it hard to get rid of Serco. Thanks #honestjohn)

Polity: Too much to swallow on the TPP, in reply to
I think that answer is a fudge.
If Labour votes against TPPA but National joins up anyway, then Labour simply has to leave the TPPA. No way should it be held to commitments made ny National that are not in New Zealand's interest. As for the possibility of penalties for leaving, pssft.

If TV3 doesn.'t provide good public interest broadcasting/reporting take away its licence to use public broadcast frequencies.
Same for all other broadcasters.
But linking responsibilities with private use of public assets is not part of neoliberal politics.
