Whispers here are that the Dompost haven’t finished yet. Not by a long shot.
Out of fairness to RB, I won’t post it here, but I have on the Sportsfreak forum.

My wife (out of the country & oblivious to this - I doubt the story has legs in Oz)
And that, unless he serves a lengthy prison term, is exactly where he will end up.

I knew you were going to say that Shep.

And in other media news..
Hasn’t Fairfax done a brilliant job of slowly drip-feeding the Veitch story, and as a result made TVNZ look very shabby?

There was certainly something quaintly nostalgic about the 2 protest events over the last few days. Hence the Telethon analogy I guess.
The thing that always cracked me up about the Kiwi Care “movement” was when several media outlets kept on calling Tania Harris “charismatic”

That Kiwis Care thing must have been one of the strangest fleeting movements in NZ history.
1981 was a strange year though; that march, the Bok tour and riot police, Joy Division making #1, the All Whites Road to Spain, and Muldoon somehow getting back into power.
And overseas there were assassination attempts all over the place and some Royal Wedding.

I’d have thought it’s pretty hard for TVNZ to run the “It’s not OK” ads just before or after the sports ads now.
Obviously the beating is indefensible, but I’d almost say the hush money is worse.

Can I put in an early guess for this week’s Dick of the Week?

P.S. The main beef I’ve got with these truck people is that I’ve had that excruciating Convoy song on the brain all day.
Just that I’d share that burden…

On one hand I think "thank god someone has remembered to how to protest. And why didn't this happen with the ECA or other initiatives in the past?".
And on the other hand I think "why is this worth protesting about?"
Well said; sums up my thoughts perfectly. You know, something different for a Friday. I also like the fact it was done round the country, so the people of Gore, for example, didn’t have to miss out on all the fun.
But the amount of ill-informed support they appear to be getting from ill-informed members of the public is plain frightening.
