So if Phelps was here in 2003, the year before he managed the reasonably useful tally of 6 Golds at Athens, why have the likes of Saville (“So Michael, when are you coming to NZ next?”) only just cottoned onto this now?
But hey; we’re making up for lost time...

I reckon Bolt would be pretty useful at the running backwards race, the 50 metre sprint and be next to unbeatable in the running sideways-while-bashing-chest races.
RB, you didn’t reply to Stephen Jones’s Facebook invitation then?

Swimming at the Olympics needs a serious scythe taken to it. A ridiculous number of medals, and a ridiculous number of relays.
If Phelps was from NZ he would only win 5 Golds.
BTW RB; you’re encouraging Stephen Jones by reading his articles again. You know he likes that. -
I support DPF’s right to blog on the Braun-Elwert death.
OK, he inevitably opened the door for the extreme posters on his site to get all tacky, but a blog isn’t really a blog if the story of the day can’t be mentioned because of what might happen next. And, unlike Whaleoil etc, his blog has some good stuff on it.
But, like Russell, I can’t understand why he doesn’t just ban people for dragging it into the gutter.
Anyway, those demerit points seem a bit cheesy to me

Handball is where it’s at people. Trust me.

The second time they cut to him on the first day the desk was covered in books and papers and he clearly wasn't ready so he just turned to the camera and said:
"Welcome back to Beijing, and just look at this mess! (motions at desk) Actually this is my homework for the next few days..."
Actually HG; I’ve got a problem with that.
I realise Peter W is hardly at the forefront of modern living, but do people really still do research these days from encyclopaedias made out of paper?

I’d have to say that I’m finding the vitriol sprayed in PJ’s direction on here very comforting.
Almost cathartic in fact.

What does the TVNZ message board have to say about the coxless fours?

Ex-players should coach, although there is too much of an emphasis on that too.
A coach needs to be able to understand and communicate a higher technical understanding to his smaller but more focussed.
A commentator needs to be able to articulate his thoughts to a wider audience, and does not need to bother about things like motivation.

Make that the Georgia flag sorry.
