12 Heads on pikes at The Arts (& Food) Centre
12 'Worthies'
I think that fatuous exercise was an easy way out for the Arts Centre to say they were promoting public 'art' (as per their charter)
major damage was from the sprinklers
and gawd forbid there was a fire at the Arts Centre - after they took out the fire escapes and put sprinklers throughout the place, the water damage would be horrendous I think...
- apologies for thread jack - as you were...

musician Chris Knox
I thought describing Chris as 'merely' a musician didn't begin to cover his contributions to many areas of NZ arts and culture.
I was surprised at The Herald's restraint in not mentioning his Max Media connection, and I now see they've given a more in depth overview in today's paperFoundation executive director Simon Bowden said the selection panel chose Knox not only for his work in music, but also for his contributions to film, video and television and for his art work and comic drawings.

Sue, Grabbit and Runne
Craig, you worked at Private Eye!
Respect...I'm still wondering how she busted PAS as a Herald-worshipping cult with Russell as the high priestess. We put so much effort into establishing our cover. :)

What about trend-cycles?
The trope-osphere we live in keeps on churning,
and turning, these things over and and out...
Mass marketing is all well and good, but 'The Long Tail' still keeps things warm...
all things come around again - there was a mid '60s Vampire bloom, which has been rekindled (if not staked out and reclaimed) - old stories new voices...
Game on...
... but does the Game Keeper listen
to Lady Loverly's Chatter?*and they ain't Gate keepers - they're Ticket sellers
they are the meter they need coins, and traffic...
we don't need to validate their views - there is still room to skew the field - people power cannot be underestimated...don't wait for the future
create it!

There will always be changes from technology, and many of them will be good.
That's right all those labour-saving devices are freeing us up to individually have the free-time to make the world a better place...
