The other bad look for Labour on this is that it smacks of personal envy of Key; something Cullen tends to let slip from time to time.
-
It’s not so much that Mike Williams always seems to get involved in stuff like this.
It’s the fact that he always gets caught.
All this at a time where the biggest thing we’re looking for from our political parties is competence.

I always thought there was a lot of Thompson and Thomson in Daffyd’s character.
Going OTT in mimicking the stereotype of whoever they were trying to dress like, they brought ridicule on the character.

DC,
But if the hint went out from Labour HQ late next week that a strategic vote was in order… Apparently it’s already being talked about on the train (which is where the Thinking Person’s Upper Hutt congregates).
Remember how Bolger shafted the Nat candidate in Wgtn Central just before the 96 election?
-
So the outcome of the election depends on how smart and tactical Upper Hutt voters are.

For what it’s worth:
If NZ First makes the threshold or Ron Mark wins Rimutaka then it’s a 5-headed monster.
Otherwise it’s the 4-headed monster.

Interesting to see in rugby union the rule is "probably have been scored", in rugby league "definitely". Maybe that's why you see less in league.
Good to see League still leaves no stone unturned when it comes to having rules subtly different from those in union.
Even when they go against logic.

The biggest accomplishment of the McCain / Palin campaign is that it has managed to make Hillary’s effort look dignified.

I’m struggling to understand what Peter Dunne’s on. Not much common sense any more it would appear.
Surely UF’s main selling point was as a “flexible” party. One that would appeal to voters who didn’t particularly mind which of the main parties governed, but didn’t want to see Greens or ACT hold cabinet posts.
So what’s he done throwing his hat in with the Nats?
And now he’s done that why would anyone vote for him instead of the Nats?
If you didn’t know better you’d think this was all about him retaining his electorate seat….

Typically, close matches won by Canterbury are dire turgid affairs. Saturday was no exception.
