Hard News: Practically jokers, in reply to
Thanks Russel, just love this ..
Man made carbon generation and other human activity does have an influence on temperature locally. Stand on an asphalt pavement in the middle summer and compare this to standing in an open field and you get the point.
.Asphalt causes global warming! Well a little bit . Yes Colin I get the point , bloody genius.

Maybe everyone can just stop being so condescending to the electors of Epsom? Sorry if they keep returning MPs you don’t happen to approve of, but to use a technical term: Tough sodding titty. One of the most pleasant, if least remarked upon, features of Election Day is the utter irrelevance of the pundits and self-appointed arbiters of electoral correctness.
Fair enough Craig I could have put that differently. I have friends in the Epsom electorate who like Tim feel under represented, other friends there are conservatives who would normally vote National but it seems pointless to them.
Will an ACT candidate really represent Epsom people? Considering the whole thing seems to be a deal to build a better majority for National in the house.

Will the good people of Epsom wake up and vote with integrity or will they just do as they are told ?

I still have one of those Brethren pamphlets, just for unintentional humour value. It’s one of those ones that basically say “rejoin ANZUS or we’ll all be speaking Chinese and Arabic”.
They could have been onto something Red , I often find myself waking up at 3 in the morning speaking in Chinese and Arabic, alternatively. Its a worry .

Thanks Sacha , a good round up indeed. Interesting speculation that Labour will be doing some electorate deals but not publicly.
In the NBR story Chris Keall asks Cunliffe if they will back off in Te Tai Tokerau, Cunliffe's measured response, " Kelvin Davis has been in the media all day today making it very clear he’ll be campaigning hard for Te Tai Tokerau and that’s appropriate" .
As one of the comments finely observed "I notice Mr Cunliffe is saying Mr Davis will be campaigning hard to win the seat but avoids saying the Labour Party will be doing likewise."
We have another 3 months of intensive speculation on who is backrooming with whom and why.
Its going to be a very interesting election but I fear my day job may suffer.

I’m damned sure that the Greens would rather make the numbers with Labour with the help of IP/Mana than with the help of NZ First.
But does Labour feel that way?

What do you expect him to do, write a compiler?
Made me laugh , thanks .

Thanks Rich , I hadn't understood how that worked and what the advantage of two single independents was to National . So you are saying if Dunne and ACT were national electorate MPS , National would get less party seats as opposed to them being partnered independents.

I just love this election, so full of twists and turns and unexpected surprises. Its going to be a wild ride.
I am not convinced IP/Mana will fit neatly onto the old Left/Right spectrum. Actually I am hopeful we are seeing something else emerging here.
When the IP first approached Mana it seemed a somewhat cynical move but like any party its a bunch of human beings and I wonder what influence the shear human power of the maori world had on the Internet Party people . To emerse yourself in even a part of that world can be a moving experiance - life changing for some. Humanising the digital world with maori wairua seems like a creative way to evolve a something new in the political world. Hell lets face it parliament needs humanising it can be a disgusting little fight pit at times.

Why would Labour fight so hard to take Te Tai Tokerau off Harawira? Isn't that kinda dumb. Leave it to Hone and at least Labour will have possibly 3 maybe more Internet/Mana PMs for a coalition deal.
Same deal the Nats did with Epsom and ACT.
