Thanks Russell for explaining the ins & outs. There was something about the campaign I found a bit creepy - it gave off the feeling of being an in-group all chirping about something that us plebs knew nowt about. I think that is the risk inherent in that sort of PR - you will get people who want to get in amongst it, but others who find in-group chatter slightly cringey. Maybe I am predisposed to be in the second group, as the very idea of "social media influencers" raises my hackles. I ain't going to be doing something because Jay-Jay Feeney or suchlike is.

Dad was by the Excelsior on 22 February. And my partner was conceived there.

You might also be interested in this wee project. I am working on pulling together some Christchurch photos for each month - gives a bit of a visual indicator and reminder of what's happening and changing. Have done them from January 2012, just published July 2012 (when the Michael Parekowhai bulls were the talk of the town). On my blog Episodic Table.

A good and honest post, thanks Emma. I've taken a bunch of pics today. http://www.flickr.com/photos/christchurchcitylibraries/sets/72157632820590271/ 2nd anniversary was as hard as the first. For 12:51, I just stood quietly between the Bridge of Remembrance and the Re:START and threw some rosemary in the river. As my workmate observed: "Avon River - tuna, trout, scaup, mallards, paradise ducks, drowned cone, people, flowers, quiet memories #chch #eqnz"
