The USA has been borrowing to consume.
And to wage war, let's not forget that.

Kos tracks Palin's rapid fade.

1) please learn how to use puntuation.
Please learn how to spel.
Or the Reader's Digest Version: Andrew Sullivan isn't standing for the Presidency of the United States. He can't. John McCain and Sarah Palin are.
I was merely commenting on how comical his angst and anger for the truth are, in light of his jumping onboard the viletrain. And surely the fact that a journalist is not running for office shouldn't mean he or she is immune from criticism?
Besides, you know how I feel about McCain et al., it's not as if I'm losing sight of the big picture. But Sully would do well to tone down the outrage for a couple of weeks perhaps.

check out sullivan having an emo</quote?
Indeed:
<quote>Right now, we are being subjected to an absolutely disorienting blizzard of lies and absurdities (Palin is a lying absurdity) from the McCain campaign. The idea is to so disorient people, to throw so many new concepts, brands, lies, images, marketing and distortions at them that they will not be able to focus on the issues in this election, and the real choices serious people have to make.
This, coming from the guy who onsold the Trig grandma conspiracy theory by innocently pasting an email sent to him by one of his readers. My heart goes out to him.

Love you, love your work, but you might want to Google "Occam's Razor" occasionally. I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next man, but you're getting convoluted to the point of absurdity.
Can I just saythat Occam's razor is meant to apply to physical phenomena, not social ones? In social situations you'll often find that the most simple, economical explanation for a given behaviour is wrong more often than not.

But snark aside, the Gibson thing wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it could have been a whole lot better. That's all.
Tu quoque, Craig?! You too a victim of the masterful handling of Sarah Palin by the McCain campaign?
They lowered expectations on her convention speech, even though oratory has always been her strong suit and she was in front of the friendliest of crowds; they shielded her from the sharp interviews, and lowered expectations on how she would perform with the blunt interviewer they ended up picking; they prepared us for said interviewer to be all ultra-soft and non-threatening, so when he actually asked a couple of half-decent questions, people would go hey, Charlie Gibson wasn't so bad after all.
Cue slow clapping a-la Brubaker.
-
BTW, I owe Charlie Gibson an apology. I've watched most of the ABC interview on-line, and while I still wasn't overly impressed it wasn't the journalistic equivalent of Gibson giving good talking head to Palin either.
Certainly not anymore than the Herald with John Key. Zing!

OTOH, Tina Fey appears to have job security for the next few months. That's uncanny.
That's the first thing I thought when I saw her. She looks like Tina Fey! What are the chances?

It refers to being on average $500 a week better off, which is a combination of tax cuts, reduction of red tape and regulatory burdens, holding government spending to the same amount plus inflation and economic growth created by said measures.
In other words, it's a figure plucked out of Roddo's lovely derriere.

__Given the title of this post, RB, a brief nod in the direction of the Warriors, and their achievement this last weekend, might have been in order!? ;-)__
Lol; so that would be finishing bang middle of a 15-team competition then?
And staring at a thrashing next week…
Good call, LB. :-)
