Mediawatch examined this issue today. Worth a listen, if just for closure, and an interview with Deborah.

$3 an hour is low by Western standards, but when you factor in a PPE exchange rate, referenced to that nation's average GDP per capita (in this case Vietnam) then $3 isn't a bad sum.
And who has tried to claim that the business community has been alturistic in this out sourcing? You find me a citation Marcus perhaps, then you can justify your comments re@Simon. Oh and i find the idea of a partially globalised market rather naive. Which parts of globalistation do you wish to keep? The low consumer good pricing, fuel costs (yes, lol), integrated markets? Which? Do you want to go back to some idealised ideal of autarky? Please.

Speaking of F.O.C, they really must have made it, when I went to Salon today the "ad you must watch if you are too cheap to man up for the premier content" was for their HBO special. I actually watched the whole ad, for the first time ever at Salon, after years of reading it. So there is something to this kiwi patriotism thing I guess.

That was painful, but only because the kid wasn't playing up for the camera. He just didn't seem to really care and was answering questions as anyone probably does in real life - hesitation, thinking the question through, mishearing, not admitting error - or at least trying to justify it.

I couldn't find this free wifi last time I looked, and I looked hard a couple of weeks back at Singapore Airport. All the networks I could get on and stay on were pay (and it wasn't cheap). There was one that sort of looked to be free but dammed if I could ever connect to it no matter where I went or did. It is possible that this was a Mac issue (I know Wellington Airport's wifi had a mac issue at first, and possibly still does).
They did have a heap of free internet terminals though, which sort of made up for it.

Those Irish/Welsh farmers are really putting the pressure on, and I know Sainsburys heavily pushes their British sourced food in their advertising. Economic nationalism + environmental fear + middle class itis = lack of lols for NZ sheep farmers I suspect.

If that isn't toleration what is? I can't think of a single park in NZ where there is an official Crown endorsement of Hip Hopping

Thom, I guess it depends where you are and when. I've never had that experience in NZ, despite my lifelong apathy towards the ABs.
I am feeling a little bitter to British sports at present, I got on the wrong tube today (well, sort of) and all I could find to read was the sports insert out of a newspaper. I now know a whole new dimension to the current Thai political drama.

Not a mention of the Anglosphere in your thruth revealing? Seems like they've got to you as well....
Is no one safe?
