The Press has come back with CCC doing a bail-out of one of his failing ventures in Christchurch - Chanery Lane.
Which one Shep.? Could it be if CCC buys building off Henderson that they lease space from, can it then develop Turners and Growers site (helping__ our__ Ellerslie Flower Show) and by keeping meeting closed, it wont divulge price paid for flower show ? How well does your Mayor know our Mayor eh?
Also the old "Build it and they will come" could be the concept to bring residents into the area of your SOL Square,By Dave Henderson, and Council partner.
But yeah but, nah but, I think it sounds like cushy deals there. Probably considered good economic sense by the Mayor (that seems to like Mr Henderson) -
Nats Conference admits Brethren
I do like the not borrowing for more tax cuts but just borrowing for spending:) -
this type is the one we have B Jones. You fill it and pressure builds which pushes the coffee through to jug then turn knob for steamer and hey presto! Most beautiful coffee and stunning little machinery to boot.

and 10 points to someone who can name the cook-by-numbers method macdonalds and other fast food places follow
Speedee? IIRC 90 seconds timers for fries, 90 seconds each side for the patties, apple pies, as long as it takes to sell.10 minutes then bin the food although the timer in the display cabinets would mysteriously move so food would often be saved longer. We always knew the canadian cod used for the fish burgers was dodgy after about 10 minutes so were careful not to poison anyone there. And the milkshake syrup required a jack hammer to remove from the fridge floor.Solid as....Personally I ...never mind, the food was never good And then I could recall some horror stories:) .

can't say i'd have spent $3000 on a coffee machine myself
Can say ,was given an Atomic (garage sale) from my parents many years ago and to this day a beautiful coffee is made (whatever type wanted) and when we go away for holidays, the trusty little thing comes along. Sits on the gas ring makes the coffee, then steams the milk.Anyone who tries this, remembers and looks forward to another. Also took a trip to Oxford to find a good coffee on hols around England then found out about the cafe in Soho but that was on a lucky visit to Escargot around the corner from the cafe. They could make a good coffee there which was well enjoyed after my exquisite 3 course meal.(Thankyou muchly Des!)

I spoke to a boss today, asked her what Auckland was like and why was Chch as I had read. Her response was a few things
1 Space is not a luxury so with, limited space, it goes to mums first.
2 Privacy (as much as possible) is a priority for women (up to 8) in each room so consideration is given to the group situation.
3 Shared toilet in each room, so men sharing is considered as an inconvenience for mothers just given birth.
The one thing she mentioned was she felt it was an awkward situation for everyone involved as there was an understanding for dads and where it left their headspace but also says, make an arrangement by request before, and something can be arranged for overnight stay but that is Auckland and it ain't a facility that specifically for dads. -
Has Winston gone even more mad?
I'd suggest got even more mad.He also said to National that he will deal with them next week.I suspect his point is, if you think NZ First is acting illegally, take a look at ACT and proceeded to bring up stuff that can fall into the same category as undeclared donations.I look forward to next week.

Yeah, I must admit that I've always thought home birth was a crazy idea (I'm a big fan of modern medicine). But after the hospital experience I can see exactly where they're coming from.
I helped my sister have her boy at home.3 am, man doing a gig in Rotorua (I think) so while she cut the firewood I ran around trying to get hold of father and midwife. No luck there but a lovely fire. By the time he arrived, I was starting to freak a little bit, then(timing is everything) in walks the midwife, has a look, declares boy healthy and complete.Phone rings, the man's on,IT'S A BOY! I shout and he says he's on his way.Kept baby attached until the Kenworth pulls up outside, he jumps out, runs in with all the nerves of the father, and I go home for a sleep. An interesting start to my day. I chose not to have children but home births really are kinda nice:)

I've got a mate who wants to buy a few billboards and chuck a bit of old testament wisdom up around auckland just so we can see what god is really saying.
"KILL YOUR FIRSTBORN" - GOD
"THROW THE MONEY LENDERS OUT OF THE TEMPLE"- JESUS (For Winstons sake:)
