Looks like we broke the Brickface Thread!
was it server overload or sensory overload?he's a brick...
Just when I wanted to say, now that this 'font' exists
would it be possible to make it available as a font to buy
which might then give Blair some small extra return on
what looks like a lot of creative work...
and I'm sure it would be of interest to a lot of type lovers
worldwide - a font created by an earthquake - I'd love to
see it mentioned on boing boing and in wired and other places...
I mean how many fonts have come out of Chchch?
This would put Mr Parkes up there with that florid font from Strategy for the Chchch Art Gallery*
and maybe Max Hailstone - but he was from the UK and mostly taught about type at Ilam. oh and Paul Russell and maybe a few others, but not many...
Any way I'm all for any initiatives that give Blair more of a profile
- he is a very multi-talented creator.*oh, hang on that was by Jeremy Tankard in the UK, too

Bosun Higgs, take it to the bridge...
Think of matter as a ripple of energy in space, a string if you will.
Does the string have mass?
Or is it like light and potentially exists at all points in its path?
So is it more like a whip ripple (linear) than a radial ripple?
Or is it both? -

It was Keating who defied parody by emerging from his long post-election defeat back then to describe his old friend Suharto as a “constitutionalist” as the kleptocracy imploded.
...at least Helen Clark boycotted Suharto's funeral!
and lest we forget the Nugan Hand / Indonesia link here's a chilling timeline (all anonymous and unvalidated), I'm waiting for the movie!
... and Keating is mentioned in a more reasoned and recent assessment on the Austro-Indonesian relationship.

Well the Americans have solved the problem
by compelling ISPs to keep a record of all users
internet use history for at least 12 months...
I'm sure this will be used responsibly to monitor
hate speech as well as pedophiles, yeah right!
- look for this to be added to the TPPA,
if the US Government survives the next week...and more worries about Stuxnet
- maybe that link should be on the Science thread? -
