A while back Paul mentioned Colin Cooper:
Megan, you're right, there is little beyond the S14 coaching positions for these guys to go for. I don't have a solution really, beyond reinvigorating the NPC competition, and making it the bread & butter competition.
The Union is in a bind over someone like Colin Cooper, who has done his dash at S14 level and has nowhere to go but overseas. He sure ain't AB material. (but that's another story)
As Megan pointed out, Cooper is coaching the JABs with Ian Foster. During the press conference last week Tew was asked (completely out of context): "Any thoughts on the appointment of the All Black coach?"
In his answer (which was mainly, "how about we concentrate on beating France first") Tew said: "we've got a couple of great coaches over in Fiji at the moment". So clearly the NZRU know that there are some talents folks about.
But I think coaches have to be patient. If there are no vacancies, then there are no vacancies. And remember we've chased a few messiahs in the past, including our current one

Ooof. Bad was really where the rot set in. Still, I've recently come to an appreciation for 'Smooth Criminal'...
Bad was my first album, I feel awful that I prefer the Alien Ant Farm cover of 'Smooth Criminal' more than the original.
Just cruising through my iTunes MJ's later (and worse) stuff was really preachy

I see Hinton's Crusade has been a success.
Heaven forbid they use that time to practice not dropping the frackin ball (continually the All Blacks biggest weakness is handling errors).
I have a theory about the six points thing. Similar to Bastareud, there was an incident and Henry made up a story to cover it. I don't think he even knew or bothered to care about points differential.

Ah, how could I forget the seriously twisted piece of high camp that is The Wiz!
You got to, ease on down, ease on down the roooad Love that film.
I also got very snippy at the MJ jokes that sprung up on twitter. It seemed a lot like "I've got to get in before someone else takes my zombie joke or my one about how he was really white", and none so far have even been remotely funny.

Currently some nice jokes on twitter:
@nzben:
Apologies, I didn't have a heart attack last night, it was just the awesome chilli. #bastareaud@twelveplusone:
I didn't miss the last 83 and had to get a $40 taxi home because I was drunk last night, it was because the bus was early. #bastareaud -
I realised what a tough job Tew had when I tried outlining some ideas (that I had discussed with friends and thought were quite good) here only to have everyone disagree with me AND disagree with each other. I'm not a Tew apologist (because he does make some godawful decisions) but it's not an easy job to try and make everyone happy all the time.

One does have to wonder about why would you lie about falling on a table?
And is he still lying to cover up some other incident?
Exactly.
Just scanning Twitter and there seems to be a lot of people comparing Bastareaud lying to the Rainbow Warrior bombing. That's probably a bit far, even for a joke.

Cover-up by NZ?
I still don't get it. What's the conspiracy theory?

But the point is really that NZ needs to set itself up as the place 2nd tier nations can prove themselves against quality club teams.
Imagine Georgia or Namibia or Portugal playing Super 14/NPC teams in Palmerston North, Queenstown, Tauranga, or Whangarei. Or teams like Japan and Italy coming and playing a few games and then ending with a test match.
