That 1992 World Cup was great.
But.
It’s also got a lot to answer for. It resulted in 10 years of preparing home pitches that were slow, lifeless and built for Gavin Larsen and Chris Harris.
It also set in motion the complete focus of cricket administrators and coaches in this country on limited overs cricket.
Apologies for grumpiness today; I get a bit like this after a test performance like last weekend’s

At least we've fixed that problem where our tail-enders were making half our runs
Nice:
No Cricket Goth there.
-
It’s also the fact that same weaknesses, like opening batting, never seem to improve.
And, for the purists, the fact that test results are so much worse than the other forms of the game rubs it in.

The word backstage is that he has the makings of a very fine batsman. Time will tell, but I wouldn't discount it.
He’ll have to learn how to play the short stuff first though.

Why would you need an expensive set to be a Monopoly champion?
I can see that would apply to a lot of fringe sports like motor racing, golf etc..
But Monopoly?

QUIXOTRY would be better.

I'm such a huge Munsters fan and such a hater of the Adams Family
Now there is a category of person I never knew existed…

In the year 2040 (possibly earlier) people will do studies on what that whole strange Turn of the Millennium Ricer Dance craze was all about.

Interesting to see Howlett start the game with a Munster haka.
I thought the shark got jumped a bit there.
I was waiting for that River Dance guy (Flattley?) who was there to come down and join in.
