Mark - They are as menacing as the cast of "Last of the Summer Wine".
I don't know these guys but I do recognise one from the large group photo.
On TV3 News it looked like the guys were being given a bit of 'The Treatment' by the cops, by being run around at more than a brisk pace.
And they're on remand - they popped the big boys balls & now the Judge in Blenheim is getting all testy.

Sorry to run off and a tangent but here is Swords to Ploughshares link & a full profile of the guys who did it.

Mark here's one I found on U-Tube.
Very much pinkos and an older crowd. I seem to remeber Quakers & the Catholic Workers - all pasifists.
Here's one from Pine Gap - Catholic Workers

Ploughshares have been around for ages. They marked the ann. of Guantanamo in CHCs square earlier this year.
In the 1/2 hour I caught up with family friends there was only one yank who did his nanna. Most were very positive towards them.
I would have been the youngest there by a decade or two, so not sure if I know the people who broke into the base.
This was a strike at our defense infrastructure with political motive. Funny how Helen has called their attack on the Spy base "senseless vandalism".

Very nice.
Can Act 2 be a monologue of him channelling/communicating with Jebus?

To buy into the "tax off food" takes you into the anti-tax lobby.
Our tax system works and we get a lot of great services for it.
As GST works as a % of the costs of goods, wouldn't it be logical for that rises in payment and taxation to be passed on to those on benfits as it happens?
If you're getting govt assistance, are you middle class?

It seems Family First have been less than honest in their Smacking Petition.

Whishart is a horrid little cretin, but as with many lies he bases them on some 'truths'.
I'm of the opinion all cops of the 80s & early 90s are at least guilty of complicity in various acts of 'corruption'.
We need their experience and guidence for those coming through. I believe there has been a change in culture and behaviour. There is a sense of, 'That was then & this is now'. Redemtion is something I believe all people are capable of and even this institution.
So we're left with working in the reality of an imperfect world & big crimes should be addressed and the trivia Wishart ties himself up in be let go, as we would for anyone else.

Gst on food is a non issue, it is to quibble at the margines.
Far better to ensure the level of support the families get is raised to where quality food is avalible to all.
As has been noted before, removal of gst won't result in a 12.5% reduction in food prices.
The increase in food prices over the last 2 years has been massively more than that and we can expect it to be more in the future. As such any reduction in tax is a nonissue.
The issue is a living wage, and the growing number of working poor in NZ.

Just to quibble, my Russian Teacher made a point of stating that Russians aren't European.
For the longest time they have identified with Asia and share many histories, stories and ethnic make up from Asia. She made a point of noting the influence of Iran on Russian culture.
Indeed St Petersburg, built on the bones of Russians as depicted in "The Overcoat" is often described as a most unRussian city.
