It sounds like a good venue for sight specific art.
Need a couple of days but am working on it. Will know something by Tues. Hoping Russell has ideas also. ( Sent him an email with regard to where I am up to) Anyway so far, is promising :)

off the topic--what a lovely sunny Saturday,
Yes, I got out to gardening as well, and found a rare brom had a pup which was really cool, when you think it hasn't survived and there it is! Also had to make a tree tomato chutney and it came out pretty bloody excellent which I'll put down to the sunny day :)

laudanum, anyone?
I think that would have been first on my shopping list back then :)
-
I must add in rereading my post is that it is just my opinion of the thinking behind National appointing Jackson, and not what I think is a great idea, which I haven't quite formulated yet. As you were. :)

.. uniquely NZ films, or should it focusmore on those that have a chance of commercial return. Finlayson did say he wanted answers to those sorts of questions.
That is what I expect of National, and am often left wondering why anyone would think otherwise. Surely their interest lies with best return for investment. If you get the person who has achieved that(preferably on the NBR rich list or definitely busy round table ) then it must be a sound idea. Jus' sayin'

Plus! All the Rugby teams end up down around the Hilton or between Show Girls and the Hilton anyway.:)

If NACT were really true to form this would only be done privately - rather than as a party for the boys
Call me cynical (I don't mind) but party central only says to me that the "boys" here are the ones sitting pretty anyway. Are these guys just a wee bit bored with Euro and Cin Cin? Lets face it, if one can afford to pop down to little ol' NZ for a game or two of rugby they probably don't need a six pack but probably will dine somewhere near their Hotels and location location is a bit saturated downtown, hence the purchase. Still think (cynicism again) it will be a continuation of the Viaduct because that is where Jk and his mates dine. It'll be a party for those boys. So I wont be able to afford it and they wont mind. Sorted eh?

She keeps her carers on their toes ...
Heh, Shelley was what made me think of "having determination".I didn't know her well but I'll never forget her. I understand she kept the house and Miles moved to a leafy suburb.:)
-
I remember Miles and Shelley from those 1990s? documentaries. Would be good to watch again and see if attitudes have changed at all.
Somehow I cant imagine loads of houses being built for the disabled but, and not that I see much of Miles, he does still live in the community and has his own place,(thanks to the system) and of course Shelly went on to have a baby (think that was a doco)
I guess attitudes can change when the determination from the other side is there also. That was what we very quickly noticed at rehab plus, hence the dog entry. It took questioning the status quo to enable alternatives but they did accept it, which I s'pose is a good thing. -
With that, I ask a question: what advice would you give to the rest of us, who haven't had strokes?
Keep your blood pressure stable of which 120/80 is ideal and Vodka was a common thing with David and myself which could have pushed the blood pressure up.If you ever get the opportunity to get an MRI on the brain, take it ,the pictures are neat and the information invaluable.
