It already featured on Gaynz.Com a while back. Sadly, no-one has been inspired to sing it bigotwards in other directions yet, although I can think of several deserving pressure groups in that general direction... some of whom get quite irate about verbal profanity...

Why do I have the sinking feeling that Jonno Young (no relation *whatsoever*) is going to be this term's Graeme Lee?

Incidentally, Craig R, what are your thoughts on the Hoover Institute's Paul Brady, who thinks that the Republicans should imitate the Cameron UK Tories and eschew sock con politics from this point on? Imagine either Palin, Huckabee or Romney standing for Republican Presidential nominee (shudder)...

While McCain certainly wasn't, namesake, Palin certainly was.
Incidentally, I've been having a quiet chuckle at the election results- notably the fact that the Kiwi Party only polled one thousand or more votes more than the Bill and Ben Party, and that the Bill and Ben Party outpolled Taito Philip Field's Pacific Party and the ghastly Tamaki/Mortlock beast the (Franken) Family Party.Incidentally, I'd like to draw attention to two new fundie Nat MPs- Peseta Sam Lotu'Liga (Maungakiekie, Nat) and Jonathon Young (New Plymouth, Nat)- although Mr Young (no relation whatsover!!!) took New Plymouth off Harry Duynhoven, previously Labour's only remaining sock con troglodyte. I fear these two characters will be this term's version of Banks and Lee...

And no, I haven't forgotten about Peseta Sam Lotu'Liga and Jonathan Young, either, although Harry Duynhoven (New Plymouth) was unusually socially conservative for the Labour caucus. I shall be keeping an eye on both these gentlemen. It's good to see that the voters of Wellington Central forced Stephen Nos Franks Tu back into his coffin, too.

Sorry, but isn't that an insult to Ferengi?
Oh well, at least there's no more Copeland, Dail Jones or Taito Philip Field to have to put up with, either. Incidentally, take a look at my blog for more on the aspects of the Obama victory. It may not have been a happy night for advocates of same-sex marriage, but it wasn't for the Christian Right, either.
(1) Pro-choice/pro gay President and Congress
(2) Federal Freedom of Choice Act- strikes down all incremental state anti-abortion laws
(3) Anti-abortion referenda failures- South Dakota, California, Colorado (!)
(4) Passage of physician assisted suicide referendum in Washington state.
(5) Defeat of Marilyn Musgrave, federal sponsor of anti-SSM Federal Marriage Amendment, in Congressional election.
(6) Probable passage of ENDA- US federal antidiscrimination law- for lesbian and gay Americans.I'm sorry to lose Helen, but it looks like Obama's victory was even more significant than we dared hope...

It's not too late to hobble the Nats through strategic voting in Epsom. Could someone from there confirm that such a scenario might uphold? It would certainly hobble the Nats if they did...

Thanks for the hat tip, and to my
namesake, might I ask him to
consider that events across the
Tasman certainly do have relevance
in the current context, particularly as
the articles about the proposed writ
of mandamus refer to immigration
fraud in this country?Surely a serious business, whoever
was involved in these alleged machinations.Craig Y

Craig R:
We seem to be in agreement over this.
As a gay man, I find this fascinating. Many straight guys
endlessly pontificate about taking over women's bodies
in the context of abortion, yet seem to be mostly unwilling
to prevent fertilisation happening through exercising
responsible sexual behaviour (ie using a condom/having
a vasectomy). In the context of HIV/AIDS, gay men don't have that luxury.
I've lost count of the number of female friends I've had to
hold hands with, while they cried about their absent male partner, or escort to a local abortion provider, because their partner couldn't be bothered to take responsibility and play safe.Craig
