  • Hard News: Costly indeed,

Man, we just spent 300 posts yesterday which ended up with an appreciation of how difficult television making can be. I'm relaxed about Groser and Jones in a scandal sense. I believe these guys work hard too and the creditcards are thrown about a bit on travel like everyones are. I'm not denying it was poor bookkeeping but unless I find that these guys have deliberately conned money from this I can't get that worked up on this.

What Jim Anderton was saying was interesting, this seems to be a historic activity, a sloppy creditcard policy , it's hard to get massively outraged when there are so many bigger isues out there. If he bought himself a yacht maybe, a choclate bar, just stupid housekeeping for an m.p.

About the one really funny thing in all this is watching the twisting and turning of the writers at the "The Standard" who surprise surprise have two standards.

Well the headline writer says everyone who screwed up on their credit card should recieve the same treatment, that's a single standard as far as I can see.

  • Cracker: A Whale of a Tale,

Still travelling, credit cards, porn....it happens everday, the hotels love it.

So he uses this card but pays it back, and I presume they get per deims.

Do we give 'em daily expenses or do they just read the gidgeons bible everynight sucking on the complimentary hotel cracker.

He was sloppy, private enterprise can be just as sloppy, but as far as I understand he paid it back or is there proof he was hiding things?

and he wanked...which is just awful.

I feel sorry for Shane Jones. I haven't worked out why.He seemed like a good politician.

  • Cracker: A Whale of a Tale,

On the flip side there are others who castigate RNZ for being too pointy headed, wooly minded, PC, and having delusions of intellectual grandeur.

Intellectual grandeur sounds like a good policy to me man,and as opposed to what? Dumbfuck nowhere grandeur. I'll go with the intellectuals.

and he told chris mathews his book was shit, but we are a small place and we do have to be more polite because industry is limited , smaller and more intimate in this country.

  • Cracker: A Whale of a Tale,

Basically in our game it doesn't matter who you work for or what product you put out - there'll always be someone who thinks you are a pile of shit.

That's not a unique problem to your game, that's the challenge of a marketplace.

and I think on reflection I understand Russells and Damians points.Making television news is rocket science, a lot of skills have to come together fast and the guy in front of the camera has to have some ultra unique skills.

Paul Holmes and Paul Henry are talented, very talented in that regard, it’s just disappointing what they say a lot of the times, with all that talent :)
