“Going to any Post Offices?” ... I make no apology for having relished the day and the experience to the full.
I've heard Edwards recall visiting every Post Office within reach that day and so was conveniently placed to receive the public's plaudits, a move that hardly harmed his career I'm sure. Would that modern public figures could expose themselves to the public (so to speak) and receive their due reception.

Reporting in from (the Mt Eden end of) the Epsom electorate, Hide seems to be doing very nicely in beraking through media emphasis on the major parties - maybe even better than in 2005 - and is on the ground in billboard and person making his National coaltion points.
After listening to Sunday's NatRad debate on the economy I'm unsure how nuch of an impact he's having lifting the vote to his 3rd place on the list but overall think Act will take Epsom again.

But she's been one-upped by Palin and the whole VPILF thing (which the 'family values' Republicans have done nothing to squash). Perhaps in a few years we'll be reduced to 'Which Presidential Candidate would you like to watch doing your wife?" instead of having a beer with. In which case I'd hope Obama would romp home ahead of McCain. Americans are funny.
But, speaking of clichés, whatever happened to politics being the means that ugly people may become famous..?

Given how many of the Kim Hill program guest are overseas scientists or writers visiting New Zealand and she's grabbing them while they're here their personal politics don't really reflect there appearance on the show. Their personal politics may not fit the New Zealand Left-Right labdscape.
Certainly their ideas can be considered in light of New Zealand'a situation but isn't that just as it should be?

The indicative referendum was between FPP, MMP, the Single Transferable Vote (STV), Supplementary Member (SM) or Preferential Vote (PV), but blowed if I can remeber the finer points of the latter two.
Here's a comparison between FPP, MMP and STV (which many proportionality advocates preferred), although, as I said above, can be very confusing to explain to voters...
