This post was shown to 300 odd stage one university kids as I was plugging this computer into a monitor. LOL

Btw, it was a great night!

Since I (sorta) of started the flame thread about Word vs. Everyone Else....Anyone want to buy my 2nd Generation 16GB iPod Touch? Heh
Btw, looks like Apple haven't push out iTunes yet (as of 10:22AM local time). For the specs page, I was hoping that it would be a Cocca app rewrite. Sadly, it was a no. And where is my iWorks update!

I used WriteRoom for a while, it's great when I just want to focus on the content but migrating back and forwards with the Windows computers at uni is a pain the ass.
LaTeX - I know a couple people in the labs who used it but had to transfer it back to Word during the final copy because he used graphs that are generated through Excel.
OO - Not touching it.
Word on a Mac is just, um, OK. But let's see what October brings.

iWorks on the desktop is fine for home users making newsletters and writing letters to grandma and light editing documents. But if you are writing papers for university (that's me), you can forgot using Pages.
Seriously, Pages doesn't support layers, no direct selection tool (for Pete's sake, what millenium is this?), you can't have footnotes and endnotes together on a document, the master pages are primitive in the extreme and only exist for WP mode, there are no named colors that you can systematically use in styles and retrospectively change, no spot colors, no crop marks, reflections, shadows and text over bitmaps are rendered at a ridiculous 72dpi. I could go on for ever, but there just isn't room.

I don't need an iPad. I don't need an iPad. I don't need an iPad. I don't need an iPad.

@Caleb D'Anvers
Ooh, thanks!
And can someone delete my post that I made easier in the year regarding Snow Leopard as a service pack? Now that I'm, um, running the OS. I'm in awe with the multiple-CPU core management when I did a sample run with R in 64-bit mode. The speed of this Mac screams.

Lurker? Who's that?
And yes, that was me saying hi to RB and then taking off. I was just too tired from uni to interact with people. I guess that how I describe my 2009...
And for music, this one had me in tears.

Now that NYT had picked up on the Tiger Woods-gate video by Apple Daily. Here is more of this news-in-motion - you don't even have to know Cantonese to comprehend the story.
And for those who thinks NZ Herald is crap, Apple Daily takes the cake (sample headlines)
