There are three people in this household -- my husband, our daughter, and myself. We all have different surnames. Nobody's batted an eyelid.

I do know a young man who changed his name to match his wife's when he got married.
After the initial "Oh? Okay," it's been no hassle at all.

See, it's not "trading one man's name for another" though.
I was 29 when I got married. I'd had my surname for all of that time. After 29 years it was my name, not my father's (thank goodness).
And for the record it's still my name.

Holy Smoke is a must-visit whenever I'm in town. They have the most amazing smoked salmon anywhere.
My sister lives about a 10 - 15min walk from there, and I tend to crash at hers when I'm in town. I've come to really like Woolston as a neighbourhood.
