A Handy Tip for visitors to Wellington:
Keep a bit of bluetak under the dash.
When you pay for your parking ticket and put it in the car, stick it to the dash with the bluetak.
Otherwise gusts of wind can catch it before you've shut the door.
This can be frustrating. Also you look such a dork chasing the ticket and flailing after it as it blows down Featherston St. Or wherever.
No bluetak? Piece of chuddy works just as well.

Thanks Paul.
Yours looks nothing like Deputy Dawg.
Andrew: Will Smith perhaps looks a bit like Herbie Hancock....

"I tell you what, we are martial arts people, we know how to defend ourselves - a chair, a dustbin -anything can be a weapon"
Or even a banana.

Blam. The whole thing has partisan politics written all over it now - reinforcing my view that it shouldn't be muddling up a general election ballot paper.
Good God yes.
Because we know, don't we, that people just can't cope with partisan politics happening during election campaigns. They're just not used to it.

Don't recall anything about a thesis, but I do recall Laws organised a pro-tour group - called FART - on campus.
As for him leading the charge in Zimbabwe etc... the image which popped into my head was of Laws as Flashman

Careful David.
It's no laughing party when you've been on the murder mile. -
...mind you I wouldn't want to see us go the way of Australia at the moment.
I see the new govt has issued a definition of binge drinking: four standard glasses of beer in one day.
Which tells me either Australia has changed one hell of a lot, or Rudd's govt has a death wish.

According to a presentation by senior police bods to a select committee earlier this year, somewhere between 50-70 % (yeah, I know, pretty broad) (pun not intended but will leave it anyway) of all Police work is dealing with someone who is drunk. Not just violent crime.

Ummm...
Well because its now Sunday, and because Soul now has a more secular meaning than it once did; because like many a nerdy white boy of my generation I was turned onto this stuff by The Blues Brothers film; and because I posted some slightly ridiculous links earlier.... here's something sublime...
Sam & Dave, live, backed by Booker T & the MGs, doing 'Hold On I'm Comin' to a European audience and some rather unappreciative security guards.

Well, if we're talking cover versions and country, this takes some beating:
