Graeme, you do come up with some interesting ideas
And this or something that had a similar effect would enhance our Parliament
IS 's idea of more members days seems a reasonable way to achieve this -
Americans, got to love them
Mad as meat axesWhy don't they have their elections on Saturday like us?
-
You do have to wonder at the US electorate
Republican President, unpopular, bumbling idiot or worse, financial world down toilet, deaths in foreign war, clutzy vicepresident hopeful etc etc
Democrates with new, young , powerfully charismatic hopeful with heaps of money for advertising
Result; apperently remarkably close, although surely it will be a landslide

The " bad guys"
After you do deals with them you count your fingers......just to see if they stole them as well
How do I know, well I am dealing with one now, he owes me a million and a half, will he pay, who knows
If he doesn't can I win, hopefullyDoubt if Miis Clark has ver even done a small deal like this, well with such a big down side for her!
-
So Hilary, who would be best to run a country in a time of crisis
Some one who has never worked in the real world and no university is not the real world or anthing like one
Or some one who has gone toe for toe with the real bad guys
-
Yes, where is the Miss Clark who "under promised and over delivered"
I have not seen her for some time!If this the so called "neutron bomb" I would like to know what Miss Clark was doing in the closing days of the last labour government

Craig, I think you would find if you asked Jim Anderton that he did not leave the party, it left him, twice
Talk about a waste of space, interesting that suicide is now a bigger killer than road deaths but know one must mention that word !
The good news is that I have been in central NSW for the last month and not a word was heard on NZs election...bliss
Plenty of red wine though -
I vote Andrew's
"The Crepes of Roth"
As the best post ever!!
Still laughing -
Jacky, it sounds to me that Emma got herself into the situation by her own means, it was her choice
She also got herself out of the same situation with the same skills
As I said further back it makes me glad I had boys as it seems to me that they are mostly more risk averse in their early teanage yearsThere is a tendency to keep our children young for longer and longer, for example they often don't get real jobs until their mid 20s
In Europe this is getting more extreme than that
On the other hand my parents cohort started work in their early teans whilst one of my early ancestors left home at 6!! To pack cod on a ship in the Iceland seas. I might add he made his fortune and we have all been riding on the money (well seed money) ever sinceOh and Emma I like your style and in aswer to your question my boys at 16 were into neither girls or crossbows, they left that sort of thing for later in their lives ie when they left home
-
Hmmm, great story Emma but by all that's holy makes me glad I had three sons who were not into that sort of thing
But you got through it and don't seem to be damaged by your experiences
It often wonder about risk taking by teanage girls, it seems quite common and males at the same age seem not as forwardDo you know what happened to the boyfriend?
