Yeah, copied that link even, but forgot to add it sorry!
I was just pointing out that the Win7 crowd we're deriding SL with that call when the same argument is easily levelled in that direction.
IMO they're both new releases of similar magnitude - SL works on the "under the hood" bizzo with a similar face, while 7 dolls itself up with the same underlying bits. Those seem to be the things that each OS needed. -
Oh, and for all the "Snow Leopard is just a service pack" crowd:
Windows 7 is really Windows 6.1. That's what the operating system will tell software applications that are trying to check which version of Windows they are running on. Windows 7 will say it's 6.1 because it's really a small upgrade from Vista, and programs designed to run on Vista should run with no problems on 7. -
True Phil, and the nature of the referendum lets you do that - you can vote to retain MMP but still vote for the contender should there be one.
-
So those of us backing MMP want a clear MMP vote (say 55% - 45%) at 2011.
Or, as I said at DimPost, the pro-MMPers can vote for the generally least-attractive as their preferred contender so that should "change" win that first vote, the contender is a weak one in 2014.
It would be useful if someone can get "Selected by Random Cats" as an option in that first vote.

Leo's Skynet quote made my day. My Windows 7 Launch Day.
Windows 7 has arrived in better shape than Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard
Went from Vista (awful, awful) to Win 7 RC (much faster ) a couple of months back then to Snow Leopard on a new MBP last weekend. 7 is good but even with the been-away-from-OSX-for-a-few-years learning curve I still more <3 the Mac. A lot of that may be hardware/software integration I suppose...
But the Win7 Beta to RC to full release process helped iron things out I imagine - if SL had been as-widely spread before release perhaps the "whoopsie daisy we deleted all your data" Guest account bug would have been squashed.

Frankly I don't see how Bill would have held the 'balance of power' any more than every other MP
Bugbear of mine too - you see there's this little rule that means you need to have more than half of Parliament to form a Government. Horribly unreasonable but the concept's been around a while...

Hard to tell how genuine it is, but Auckland Airport seem quite encouraging of rail access - they've got a spot for the station in their long term strategic plan that can't be used for anything else. I suspect the quick, easy flow of passengers is more valuable to them than carparking...

Sigh. I know......It is more the line of a "Love Hate" relationships but.
And an outside perspective is useful at times - but someone who hates something should never be put in a position of advice around it. Hence Rodney Hide being a poor choice for Local Govt Minister.

I read an article recently on the psychology of self-depection.
Is self-depection turning yourself into an 80's New Wave electronic act?

Which we actually kinda like.
Anyone who likes it is either subnormally intelligent, wilfully blind or hasn't travelled much.
Wow. I know I'm not the last, so trying to work out which of the first two I must be?
