Run-of-the-mill "hot" girls in bikinis.
And yet... I can't put my finger on why I find the Burger King ads so tasteless and tacky, but I LOVE the Tui girls.

Wow, I stand corrected. What is it with Prime actually screening stuff? First Dr Who, and now this?
My mum's pissed she doesn't get Prime. Imagine if they'd bought Torchwood. They might have... played it or something. Maybe even all in consecutive weeks.

Ah, but Family First doesn't have the numbers: it's Bob McCroskie and a mailing list.
But that is more than what the pissed-off Liberals have managed, I/O is right. As long as we're going 'that sucks' and not doing anything, why wouldn't the companies keep rolling over?
But it was Cadbury that struck me as the obvious target - I guess because they're the only company mentioned that we actually buy anything from. And the idea of boycotting them didn't alarm me until I remembered they're Cadbury-Schweppes-Hudson and they make my tonic water... But I'd admit I got as far as their horrible website and realised just what a PITA it was going to be to send them a snitty email, and how I'd be on their spamming list forever if I did.
I am pretty appalled that it seems noone in the media picked up on the hypocrisy of the Burger King thing, because it seems pretty bloody obvious, and I'd love to hear them try to justify it.

And yet a few weeks back on Rescue Me we had one of the Firemen actually having sex with an actual Nun! Not a peep from Bob
Give the man a break: he can't possibly actually WATCH the stuff he's trying to get taken off air, so he needs some other clues to content. 'Rescue Me' doesn't have a rude word in the title.

I'd like to talk to you about fibro.
Wow, I haven't heard THAT one before.

It is time...The Nerds Handbook,

I've learned to recognise the facial expression. Nonetheless, I'm forwarding the hell out of that link.

the acupuncture thing is interesting... ACC funds acupuncture treatment, and given their tightness, that's quite significant.
Acupuncture is also funded under an Invalid/Sickness benefit, as long as the acupuncture is carried out by a GP - whether or not that GP has acupuncture-specific training.
I was extremely skeptical when I got as far as acupuncture, but all anyone else was offering me was anti-depressants and painkillers. It was brilliant for my fibromyalgia and migraines.
I was talking to a woman over the weekend whose oldest had pretty bad reflux, and she said they fixed it, overnight, like flicking a switch, by taking her to an osteopath. Again, I'm skeptical, but if it works, and doesn't appear to be detrimental, how can you argue?

But Bond&bonds cheeky one is the one that would work better, except it has now been severely neutered by......Erin herself.
The Bond and Bond ad ("Government says fridges are better younger - just like women, really.") was a sexist, ageist piece of shit. What, like middle-aged women never buy major home appliances?
I'm glad that it was pulled and Bond and Bond were made to feel ashamed.
My impression was that B&B had deliberately run the ad, once, so that Brokovich could complain about it. Getting both companies free publicity and making them both look good to different sections of the public.
Or am I getting a bit too Machievelian?

And is Brockovich's favourite movie really the appallingly schmultzy 'Pay it Forward'
This is the point at which I discovered I'd lost my weighted foam 'throwing at the telly' brick.

If he kept it in his pocket then it would be good for making a real mess of some parts of his body that he was probably quite attached to.
I never said he was smrt.
