It’s worth recalling that this whole thing began when he attempted to take a knife onto a commercial flight.
Like it's not the screening he objects to so much as being required to obey the rules.
I can't help noting it would have to be larger than the standard 6cm pocket knife blade, which is exactly the size that have been allowed on domestic flights since 2005.

Well, there’s been a fair quantiy of draft-leaking, and countries have varying degrees of openness about the current agreement and their negotiating position. That said, my impression of the drafts is they are a big pile of options.

Nah, I'm calling it: it's knowledge.
It's the equivalent of "comics aren't just for kids any more!" - it looks like an exciting story to someone who hasn't been paying attention.
Tech saw the way specialist fields get treated in Parliament during the file sharing debate, and they saw it from the media ('these people think you should be allowed to download anything you like') then, and now.
