cultural snobbery and a selfish rejection of the poorer parts of Spain as an albatross around the Catalonia’s neck and a desire to abandon their poorer fellow countrymen and women in places like Estramadura for the sake of being unfettered in the sunlit uplands of posh, progressive Europe.
Yeh nah. if you have to send your police in to bash the fuck out of people inside "your territorial zone" I say abandon and spexit, calling a minority or their opinions sort of names speaks volumes about your own place in the world Tom.

> anti-competitive practices by presumably captured regulators, mean we are not being allowed to use hemp properly.
Hi Tadhg, could you expand on this?
I noticed hemp featuring in softdrinks and now burgers - more evidence we have entered an age of enlightenment in this field.

I feel bad for being so off topic.
I did like the recent term douche flute for vaporiser. Perhaps synthetics / fake marijuana are deserving of an equally derisive term?

Hard News: Synthetics: We need to stop…, in reply to
I disagree, I think original synthetics law established a new baseline for failure.

Surely all recreational drug use is detrimental to the health and well being of the individual with perhaps the exception of reggae musicians. Until New Zealand society finds a way to turn around our mental health and child welfare statistics which makes our situation IMHO incomparable to any other country in the western world, liberalising our drug laws strikes me and I suspect many other citizens as reckless and neglectful.

Hard News: Cabinet and the Reeferendum, in reply to
In the interest of debate perhaps referring to your opponents as bigots is not helpful - about as unhelpful as Chlöe Swarbrick MP calling a twitter user a coward for voicing their point of view.

I started with earliest issue I could recall - September 79 and had a browse. I was 12 and had already learned to never mind the bollocks that was music industry journalism but the ads are still gold and trigger lots of great memories.

Hard News: Cabinet and the Reeferendum, in reply to
I applaud the opt-out nature of the referendum – something I wish more than a single MP had done when it came to the small minded tinkering that were his legal high experiments on low income New Zealand.
I am beginning to think Greens made a huge mistake and the majority of the country is going to say no to commercial cannabis.

Denver vote is close on mushies. TBC
But in a state where voters legalized marijuana for recreational use seven years ago, the psilocybin initiative was a test of whether that victory reflected widespread acceptance of a moral principle that could be extended to other drugs. It would have been the first time any U.S. jurisdiction had decided that using psilocybin mushrooms should not be treated as a crime.
