Realistically none of you need me to answer questions about the Church, you are all capable of finding out for example, the interfaith diplomatic efforts of the Holy See. Likewise you can all google for the Catechism and other documents to discover the theology of the Church.
As it happens, some of us are better informed about these things than you appear to have considered. Because someone doesn't happen to believe as you do, it doesn't automatically follow that they're living in ignorance. While you probably don't intend to be patronising, it does rather come across that way.
I think it's really to do with my nature more than anything.
Good on you. Vive la différence.

Is anyone else finding sachae's rhetorical style a little... familiar?
Yep - same old subtext - 'please please please , step on my face and put me out of my misery'.

No one wants a theocracy a la Iran, but I also don't want to live in country that refuses to let people like me play their part in a democracy because I have to hide my beliefs in private.
When the 'faithful' of the catholic church democratically elect their leaders your argument might carry a little substance. As it stands, you're an apologist for an absolute monarchy that only practices diplomacy towards other beliefs when compelled to do so by the force of secular law.

Dumpty doo dumpty day
Boom-sha-ka-la-ka-la-ka. Blop, blop! Brrrrr-ba-da-boosh.
Suddenly everyone's channeling Susan Boyle.

For example: I'm always happy to have James Bremmer in the house, even if only to catch up on the latest Republican talking points, and I've asked people to desist from personal abuse and name-calling to him a few times. Although his arguments often seem outrageous to me, he conducts them well.
There's been the occasional 'did he really let that one through?' moment, e.g. 'hairy armpit brigade', but yeah, to be fair, like Dr. Strangelove gnawing at his wrist after realising he's broken into the stiff-arm salute, James does try.

Culture and sun are inversely proportional (think North Shore)?
Fun run + sausage sizzle = crown of creation.

Joe - I felt being a bit snarky was a fitting response to someone whos critique of her writing of love and inclusiveness resorted to addresseng her sex life.
She has to deal with the Patriachy of the Catholic Faith constantly and is a shining light of hope and change.OK, couple of points. First, the Sister by definition doesn't have a sex life. To her credit she doesn't appear to presume to advise couples on specifics, but her bizarre use of the archaic term "biracial" gives the impression that perhaps she ought to get out more often. Seriously, it's way past the time to be making allowances for those among the 'faithful' who cling to such notions.
More importantly, what do you take from her writings that challenges the catholic patriarchy? I don't detect any sense of urgency there, in fact I'd say she's downright timid in her bland avoidance of challenging papal authority.

Joe, might want to read that again (but put the chip down first). She is being explicite in her expression of truth, couched within a religious perspective.
JT, I responded to your post in good faith. From your semiliterate and feebly snarky reply I've gained all the insight I need into why you find the little Sister's vapid homilies so riveting.
