As the house moves to also consider the solutions of an increased tax on alcohol and a control on the number of outlets – if you currently hold a licence to sell liquor - you could do very well as a result – as it will likely become a licence to print money.

It is "peculiar" that in the operation of law that for same gender couples to exercise the benefit of the rights guranteed to all people under the Human Rights Act and Bill of Rights Act - in realtion to a Marriage act that did not exclude them or define marraige - there needs to be further legislation.
The legislation, will further define what consists a marriage, and should pass.

Yes - I looked at what was prohibited under the Marriage Act and couldn't find anything - I would be interested to know the specific nature of same sex marriage being prohibited.

Making a sweeping generalisation Auckland before the reforms of the mid 1980s had fewer people, more bands and more energy - if memory serves me correctly - which it probably doesn’t.
The work ethic ruled. - 10.00 PM closing time on Thursday and you got to stay out in pubs till 11.00 PM on Friday & Saturday - very little weekend trading - you had to get what you needed by 5.00 PM Friday or eat fish n chips all weekend.
The team policing unit - the public bar at Windsor Castle and what was that other public bar across the road and down a bit the Exchange - The Team Policing unit coming in sitting on the exits and going through the crowd checking for persons of interest, underage drinkers and/or dope - they also used to go th rough the tiolets at the gluepot..
Good on all the venues and the bands for the blast, all very workman like and almost but not quite pre history.

I saw them attempt it and it's just tragic. Drugs are bad mmkay?
The only ones are gigging, here they are in 2009 doing Another Girl Another Planet
and doing "The Beast" at the Black Pool Rebellion Festival 4 August 2012 - this track is from a fans hand held cam - so the quality is limited.
I find "the Only Ones" articulate both muscially and personally - they are the genuine article (and wouldn't lip sync anything).

Not meaningless, it is a means of providing immediate and ongoing earthly benefit to religious officials and where it occurs their state supporters. Religion is for the benefit of the clergy and can be beneficial to a state.
Yesterday I went to a religious funeral - the deceased in his acceptance of his traditional faith lived a life of dignity in the work he did both in paid employment and voluntarily - he was all about living what he saw as a good life and allowing people to flourish.
His religion/faith was a guide to him in his life and a benefit to many - I don't have a problem with that or his belief in God.
Organised religions are in essence corporations - with tax-free status - they have failings. I tend to prefer the traditional religions to the new age and I cannot abide Destiny Church or televangelists.
But this is all something else.
