have we established that Brash's emails were unlawfully taken en masse? By someone who had no right to access them?
No. But it's a red herring.
If Brash wants to establish that his injunction applies to prevent the publication of The Hollow Men, then he'd have to establish a basis for that - some proof that Nicky Hager actually used 'stolen' emails.
If they haven't been taken unlawfully then no-one is gagged.
Brash would have had to establish the basis for believing that his email had been hacked to meet the "serious question to be tried" standard to get the inunction, but with the rumours of a book of emails, and Peters' assertions about phonebooks full of them that won't have been difficult. Proving that emails were 'stolen' would be difficult, proving you've got good reason to believe they've been stolen less so.

"Interesting figures, it should be pointed out that was a poll of Aucklanders. I believe Auckland voted in bigger numbers for National than Labour in the General Election."
Nope. Auckland went Labour.

Well I for one am really looking forward to a broader public broadcasting platform. And if the promises of in-depth coverage and analysis of current events actually come through it'll be a great thing.
The major issue I have with TV presently is the quality of so much of it - there are some gems out there (foreign and domestic) that are hidden a repeat of agenda at a more hospitable hour would be good, for example. Ideally for me, expanded public television would enable more quality foreign programming into the market, as well as addition local stuff.

Doctor - you sure about the "Adventure of English". I remember it's airing in NZ (watched every episode), but I'm pretty sure we got all that's thus far been made (i.e. two sets of four episodes were played back to back).
Those looking for other hidden gem documentaries on free to air might like to check 10am Sundays TV1 (those the random collection may have ended with a series to start this week), and 9:30am Saturdays on TV1 (the Maaori Doco slot).

"are we becoming too safe for our own good?"
I'm pretty sure this is a big part of Wayne Mapp's anti-political correctness campaign - over-regulation of our lives - children getting hurt in lolly scrambles - unaccompanied minors not to sit near men on aeroplanes - not keeping score during sports for fear of promoting competitive behaviour etc.
An obsession with "safety" - perhaps by banning the sale of fireworks, or raising the alcohol purchasing age - that is out of all proportion with the dangers?
(I note Dr Mapp is proposing a split age for alcohol purcase 18-on-license/20-off-licence)

Agenda comes and goes.
Lisa Owen has gotten better over time. Her interview with Christopher Hill was the most painful item of current affairs I've ever seen.
And Cameron Bennett not calling Mike Williams on so many things a few weeks back ... but other times really good.
Keeping the tape in for TV1's Maaori Documentaries that follow it as well. Some real gems so far.

The TV Guide Viewers' Choice Awards will be named soon... what are you rooting for?
Me - The Lost Children. Awesome show - and the best bi-lingual NZ show I've ever come across.
