As far as I’m aware we don’t have a word for things that feel nice to touch. Why is that? “Tactile” is the closest I know, but that doesn’t really convey the feeling of something feeling nice. :-) -
Doug: Do people ever mind having you take their picture? Did you ask the guy with the moko, or did he do that spontaneously?
I remember Ans Westra saying if people seemed concerned about her taking pictures, she would just smile innocently and keep walking. It may have helped that she didn’t use an SLR, but a TLR that she looked down into, and many of the people she photographed may not have realised she was taking their picture.

It'd be fascinating to know what coaching these overseas call centre staff have in our dialect and idiom. I wonder what definition of munted they get taught? :-)
