  • Field Theory: In Tauranga, my Mum was yelling,

Is there any truth to the idea that netball is mainly enjoyed by people in Canterbury, Otago and Southland?

    And people without Pay TV.

    Interesting figures Russell.

What would also be relevant in your comparison is the viewing figures for the big games in the netball ANZ Cup on SKY.

Especially since those games that actually mattered.

    Tom,

A better way for the peasants’ revolt to succeed is to ensure that the S14 franchises spread the games around more equitably. If BoP want to revolt, they’re better off marching on Hamilton than Dunedin.

But couldn’t agree more re the automatic relegation for the bottom 4. But what’s really doing my head in is the inference from The Establishment that it’s a radical idea.

  • Field Theory: The Real Deal,

When you’re playing Australia you’re allowed to push the rules.

Agree it was a strange series though. Australia lost it on the back of 2 bad session / batting collapses and the fact they don’t have a spinner.

Otherwise they were the dominant team.

  • Field Theory: This one has rugby in it,

In an unintentional way Jones almost makes a good point.

I agree that a neutral observer would say that The Lions played the most enterprising rugby on show this year.

But, with the current rules, that’s not winning rugby.

  • Field Theory: This one has rugby in it,

In fact it'd make this season even more interesting

It would also make it like any other competition in the world with promotion / relegation.

It is NOT a radical idea.

The amount of righteous rugby anger out there in non-Super land is scary to behold.

And when 4 sides, picked randomly from the points table, are demoted at the end of the season it will slip into a new gear altogether.

    What Yam said.

I just can't see the issue of an Otago / Auckland playing a year in Div 2.

It's hardly as if the game would fold in those areas. Would be good for the Heartland comp or whatever they call it these days, it would be fair (gulp) and it wouldn't actually do the players any harm either.

And they'd come straight back anyway.

I was there, and can vouch for the surrealness of the whole event.

What would be really surreal is if the 3 Old Ladies read this, registered, and gave their angle on the story.

    We can only hope?

  • Southerly: I Was Dissed By Three Old Ladies,

How many bourbon bottles do you normally leave on your front lawn?

And which part of the property gets the tequila bottles?
