I've always liked Zap for quick and easy foodcourt-level Thai.
Jungle Flavour, just past KFC in Balmoral, isn't bad either. The Krapao and Kratiam Duck have quite a kick at medium and above, and the whole fried Snapper dishes have been pretty reliable in our experience. Bit pricey I guess, but does feed two easily, with an entrée.

Apparently you can become desensitised to Chilli, but it doesn't damage your taste buds, according to the Chilli Pepper Institute.
I'm having fun just thinking about their job advertisements.

For the NZ France game we did Lamb studded with garlic slivers and marinated overnight in Kim's spice mix (roasted cumin seeds then ground) then cooked for 12 hours at 140C with a tin of chopped tomatoes thrown in the bottom of the roasting pan
Stop it!

Was sensational.
Damn. You really are dishing out the punishment for those of us who missed out.

Oh Calcutta!
That was definitely a favourite a while back. Satya (Sandringham) has, IMhO, lost it due to over exposure. I've walked out after waiting thirty minutes to be served this year, and stopped eating their chicken dishes for reasons...
When we lived nearby we used to frequent Sages in Pt Chev shops, and although we haven't been for awhile, we did like their menu, particularly the Saag Paneer.
As to Alien status, it is interesting to look at what stage countries allow expats the vote (e.g. New Zealand vs Japan). And then compare this to the right for expats to represent the country in international sporting competitions.

So I'll have to try it now.
A note of caution. We may also measure the quality of our experience on the box of drawing pencils and colouring in pages each of our three children received with their reasonably priced set menu.
They do seem to have a good after 8 crowd, it's just not something we have recently had a lot of experience with.

( I can't speak for the Newmarket one. I was there once with some fine fellows from this parish, and it was a bit, um, lacksadaisical)
Perhaps coping with the lack of daisy [sic] at the allotted time? True, their lunch staff seem to handle numbers better. That going from prime to even did seem to throw them.
The Kumru Burger ain't bad for lunch, but I tend to order the rest off the Tapas menu. Then again the Moorish Eggs is a great protein loader. It could all be spicier though, which I guess goes with the territory.
Incidentally, as we seem to be in food blogging mode, Sal Rose in Alberton Ave Mt Albert changed hands a while back , and it has improved. If you're one for the mallard, their Duck Confit entrée was excellent. But I don't recommend up-sizing it to a main. Too much duck to truck.

Oh well. From helping to install the Apple 11e computers in our school in 1981
irrational.
You mean anachronistic? Yes, I installed the Apple ][e two years before it was released. We were ahead of our time in rural New Zealand.
It was thirty years ago, and my mind was clouded by grief. Give me a break already. Have to consult the Oracle to get my story straight. Although few are as happy as Larry.
You know, we live in a very egalitarian world. We don’t like heroes. And Steve is one of these heroic guys whose accomplishments are of such epic proportions, and it gnaws away at our egalitarian sense of the world.
Larry Ellison.

So for me this week I'll honour Steve Jobs and his contribution and I'm sad to see him die.
Thanks Bart. It would be nice if we could be given the opportunity to express our unfettered response to his passing without being accused of 'platitudes' and 'irrational reverence'.
The assumption that none of us can read, or are aware of his failings, or those of most human beings for that matter, is borderline insulting. Actually, scrap the borderline bit.
