I wouldn't be surprised if Reed's objection is that Doug Yule's Lou impersonation is so good.
And as we all know it doesn't take much to make Lou grumpy.

Speaking of which, can anybody point me to a digital copy of Squeeze?
Hasn't it been blocked from CD release by the owners of the name..ie Reed & Cale.
I have a vinyl copy..it's ok as 3410 says but it ain't the VU

Why did TV get so complicated....
So much gibberish and technical knowledge needed for when one buys a new set
and once you have it all working the content is dumber and duller than ever
The same thought occurred to me as I spent hours trying to get the new DVD recorder to go through the amplifier to the screen a couple of days back, which considering how little time I spend watching the box was odd.
And then I went to see Dark Knight and realised that no matter what I do or add to that small screen the big screen trounces it every time.

It's hard to have a drum thread without mentioning the most sampled man in the world, Clyde Stubblefield, without whom.....

'Rain'! I vote for 'Rain'!

2 favourite rawk drummers
and quietly many drummers rate Ringo Starr even if only for the Ticket To Ride, as I do. But my favourite drummer is closer to home, Mike Dooley was a powerhouse unlike any other I've seen.

(if I treat punk ((Paul Cook)) as a separate category)
sadly you can't. Paul Cook in Mojo a month or two back when questioned about his new band with some guy from Def Leopard (!!?!) said "I'm just a rock drummer" or words to that effect.
What with that tie up and scary impending punk reunions later this year you have to ask how it came to this.
Oh, and a very happy day RB. Trying to work out the exact age?

To Simon and others with domain name management problems the Domain Name Commission is always there to ensure the smooth operation of the .nz domain space.
Thanks Don..it was actually a .info domain for my wife's site. I'd managed to move the registrar to the US based company I use (JaguarPC) and once there repointed the DNS there then transferred the site, but, yep Vodahug would not turn off the hosting and happily billed for it despite the fact that nothing was pointing at it and I'd cancelled it on line (twice..but it still came up as a hosted domain).
And JaguarPC charge me US$9 per month for unlimited sites ( I have 11 on there), unlimited bandwidth and unlimited email accounts which compared to Vodafone's NZ$22 a month per domain was a no brainer. Oh..and have a responsive help system, although to be fair the last guy I spoke to at Vodafone did seem to be trying but was clearly up against it.

Contacting Vodafone direct is a waste of time short of writing a letter to the GM. Vodafone has become the new Telecom, and under its misdirection Ihug is becoming the new Xtra.
Yep, I cancelled a domain hosting, a leftover from the days when worthy people I knew worked at Ihug. I did it online and the reason I'd done it was simply because nobody had bothered to respond to my 5 email requests for help on something else, via their online help.
So I cancelled the site hosting, which was overpriced anyway, and bingo..next month it's still there but the price has changed.
Eventually after a bunch more emails someone responded and said that I needed to fill a form out..although their website says nothing of the sort. So after filling it out and being told I would get an refund I get a new bill and not only is it still there but I've been charged for a new setup.
My three more emails were finally answered today and a refund posted. It took 3 months..
I feel like a PC World letter writer...
